  30. The imminent release of Storyspace allows importing QuickTime movies
  31. directly into the document. QuickTime is Apple's protocol for real-time
  32. video and sound. It decompresses multiple PICT files on the fly and plays
  33. them as frames to which an audio track is attached. The video can be as
  34. involved or generic as you want, with a clarity loss at the more complex end
  35. (which is to be expected).

  37. Storyspace allows combining text, QuickTime, static PICTs and sounds all in
  38. the same space (area). Links can be made from any of these items to anywhere
  39. else in the hypertext structure.

  41. The drawback inherrent in Quicktime is disk-space. A five minute movie with
  42. real captured video and sound may take up to 60 ^?{okMB of disk space.
  43. Storyspace tried to work around this problem by creating file-links. The
  44. QuickTime movie is not included in the hypertext. The QuickTime player built
  45. into Storyspace loads the movie from another place (which could very easily
  46. be a CD ROM).
