- The imminent release of Storyspace allows importing QuickTime movies
- directly into the document. QuickTime is Apple's protocol for real-time
- video and sound. It decompresses multiple PICT files on the fly and plays
- them as frames to which an audio track is attached. The video can be as
- involved or generic as you want, with a clarity loss at the more complex end
- (which is to be expected).
-
- Storyspace allows combining text, QuickTime, static PICTs and sounds all in
- the same space (area). Links can be made from any of these items to anywhere
- else in the hypertext structure.
-
- The drawback inherrent in Quicktime is disk-space. A five minute movie with
- real captured video and sound may take up to 60 ^?{okMB of disk space.
- Storyspace tried to work around this problem by creating file-links. The
- QuickTime movie is not included in the hypertext. The QuickTime player built
- into Storyspace loads the movie from another place (which could very easily
- be a CD ROM).
-
- Storyspace is published by Eastgate Systems (800) 562-1638
- or (617) 924-9044
