  20. I tried logging on but there seems to be a bug regarding vt220 terminals
  21. which your program didn't like.   I had the same problem initially with
  22. gopher.  Anyway, I got through a vt100 emulation. Works fine, feels
  23. just like Hytelnet.  Familiar to us because we have been working on the
  24. same lines as yourselves, but in a much smaller scale, for a
  25. biocomputing package, and recently for an internet browser of biological
  26. databases.

  28. Seems as if the gopher and the wais interface in the telnet version
  29. I tried relies on executing an external call to gopher or swais 
  30. rather than being built-into Lynx.  Our modified version of the
  31. Hytelnet hypertext reader by Earl Fogel (unix port) is doing precisely
  32. this ie the call to an external command.  
  33. Do you think it useful to incorporate gopher or wais into
  34. the Lynx code, or retain it as a separate client which Lynx can call.

  44. Our version which is used for a biocomputing sequence analysis package
  45. GCG should be available by anonymous ftp at nuscc.nus.sg in /pub
  46. under the name gcgmenu.tar.Z by the end of this week.
  47. My colleague Derek Kiong who modified the Fogel code got permission
  48. from Earl Fogel to distribute the modified hypertext browser together
  49. with our database of documents.
