Some students where I studied got around the submit program by submitting
something like:

on time, and just made sure they fixed myproggy.c before the automatic
marking ran.

Obhack: video game on a DSE System-80 (a TRaSh-80) clone in BASIC.
Used the 'put frequently GOTOed lines at the beginning of the program'
hack and the 'stick control codes and graphics chars in strings for speed'
hack.
Too old? OK.
Writing a kermit script to hangup the line on a UN*X box when I logged out coz'
the hacked up serial cable to the modem lacked the carrier line.
