  16. I have been on the "CLIENT" side for quite some time now, (and love it!)  Last 
  17. week I got a Macintosh Quadra 950 with the A/UX bundle and I am tring to 
  18. install the Gopher (unix) "SERVER" v1.0.1 and I am having a few problems...
  19.  
  20. to note: I am still new to A/UX and I think that might be part of the trouble
  21.          but here go...
  22.  
  23. When I do a make in the /gopher1.01 directory both gopher and gopherd compile 
  24. but I get the following warnings:

  26. in /gopher1.01/gopherd/gopherd.c
  27.     line 1181: warning: statement never reached
  28.  
  29. in /gopher1.01/gopher/gopher.c
  30.     line 617: warning: illegal pointer combination, op==
  31.     line 622: warning: illegal pointer combination, op==
  32.  
  33. but the server DOES run okay and so does the client!  Is this okay?!?!
  34.  
  35. the second problem is when I do a make install
  36.  
  37. the only way it will do the install is if I change all instances of the command 
  38. install from install <file> <directory> to install <directory> <file>
  39.  
  40. Like I said, I am very new to A/UX and I think this message may belong in 
  41. comp.unix.aux but alas we (MSKCC) do not have a news server and I only have 
  42. read-rights to a server located 'elsewhere'.

  44. I hope someone can lend-a-hand...
