- Thanks for all the info on running multi-line BBS's. I still have
- many more though... so here it goes:
-
- 1. How many lines can a:
- 386-25SX, 2 megs ram, 105Meg Hard drive
- 386-25SX, 4 megs ram, 105Meg Hard drive
- 386-33DX, 4 megs ram, 130Meg Hard Drive
- 486-33DX, 4 megs ram, 200Meg Hard Drive
- 486-50, 8 megs ram, 300Meg Hard Drive
-
- run... just wondering. I would be using WINDOWS NT when it comes
- out... as a multi-tasker. (That is assuming it is VERY GOOD... else Windows
- 3.1).
-
- 2. Does hooking up a bunch of computers in a LAN as a PEER (ie.. can
- be accessed and can access any computer that is hooked up to it) slow down
- the modems. I mean, if I had one computer running 4 lines, and 4 other
- people were accessing the computer (downloading files for example), would that
- slow down the 4 lines hooked up to it signifigantly?
-
- 3. What program would best run a BBS with 20 lines or so hooked up to it.
-
- 4. Does anyone know if you can get a MUD going on a BBS?
-
- Thanks for any info....
