- I think the best thing you can do for yourself is *CAREFULLY* limit
- who has access to what on your BBS. For example, I live in a small
- town NW of Boston. You may have read about the high school principal
- who placed hidden cameras in the boys room ?? Well, that was us.
- Some of the GIFs I have on-line would most likely curl the locals'
- hair. I don't need grief from the neighbors so I limit access to the
- Adult areas of the BBS to callers out side my local area who can prove
- their age (via a license photocopy). So far it has worked out well.
- The folks who do call in from the area see nothing that would suggest
- there's anything they might find offensive.

- The last complaint I received was from a woman whose 14 year old son
- lied about his age to get access. That was before I moved to my
- present location and is the reason I started requiring photo id.
- Since then, not a peep from anyone. On the other hand, I'm not naive
- enough to think that nothing COULD happen. Just a few weeks ago a
- nearby system was raided by the FBI for carrying pirated software.
- The feds will NEVER learn so caution about what goes on your system
- and who has access is the best defense.

-
- Not really. There are a few callers who grouse about restrictions but
- for the most part the experience has been pretty good. There are the
- callers who call just to grab as much free stuff as they can but
- there's lots of callers who are willing to share their stuff too.
- I've had many conversations with pleasant folks who appreciate all the
- work that goes into maintaining the BBS. Call sometime and look
- around (the number is in my .sig), see what you think.
