- !Help for !KeyDefnEd v1.01
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- !KeyDefnEd edits the KeyDefn files that !TaskKeys uses to
- store the F-key definitions.
-
- To Load.
- ~~~~~~~~
- Run !KeyDefnEd by either double-clicking on its icon, or on a
- KeyDefn file (&0CD) if !KeyDefnEd has been 'seen' by the
- Filer.
-
- To Use.
- ~~~~~~~
- Load a KeyDefn file by double-clicking on it or dragging it
- to the !KeyDefnEd icon. This opens the Edit window. Click
- MENU over this window for the tasks menu. Click SELECT on a
- task to edit it. There are only two restrictions on the key
- definitions you enter:
-
- 1: The task name must be EXACTLY as it appears
- in the task manager window.
- 2: Each key definition is a maximum of 20 chars,
- the task name can be up to 25.
-
- It is advisable to enter the definitions for F12 even if the
- task doesn't alter them, so that they appear correctly in the
- !TaskKeys window and you don't forget that they're defined.
-
- Click on the radio buttons to enter Shift, Ctrl and ShiftCtrl
- definitions. When you've finished click on 'Update'. 'Clear'
- forgets both the changes you've made and the task you're
- editing. Click on 'Clear All' to clear all task definitions.
- Click on 'Save' to save the key definitions. Note that this
- overwrites the file you loaded. Maybe one day I'll include a
- 'Save As' facility... maybe not.
-
- Note you can use the function keys to change the button state
- on the Edit window. I'm not going to tell you which is which:
- load !KeyDefnEd into !TaskKeys (read !TaskKeys.!Help to find
- out how to do this) if you really want to know!
