'Docklands' is a sampler of one section of a forthcoming major multimedia resource entitled 'London from the Air'.
'Docklands' has been created using Oak Solutions Genesis Professional by Educational & Multimedia Associates and the PhotoAir Group. The structural metaphor for the application, and for the whole package, is that of spiralling down from the sky, using combinations of high quality oblique and vertical aerial photographs and ground photography. As the user traverses the various levels of the spiral, information of all kinds appropriate to that level is made available. 'Docklands' is one of seven applications supporting studies spanning the geography curriculum in primary and secondary schools and it is concerned with urban regeneration. The other six applications in 'London from the Air' are concerned with tourism, the Thames, urban greenspaces, transport, housing and function clustering.
