- MISSION OBJECTIVE

- "Ok, Boss has got a legitimate use for our old F-104's. Intel reports that
- General Dubrovsky is attending a high muckity-muck meeting just inside of the
- Russian border on the north-east. The land war is being pretty brilliantly
- managed by this particular Commie, so we've got orders to take him, and any
- other high ranking officials, out. As we speak, a Coaler is dropping him
- off. We'll take off in a couple of minutes and ride the afterburner all the
- way there. The meeting is occurring in a block house at the end of the
- runway. I think we should load up with Mav's and AIM-9M's or maybe AMRAAM's
- on the wings. Let's leave the default three tanks on. The plan is to burn
- in, target the block house with a Mav, swing around and burn back out. Heavy
- AAA and SAM coverage is expected, and probably birds in the air, so I'll send
- you over to keep them busy while I do the dirty work. Disengage if you can
- and follow me home."
-
- "Colonel, I don't think we can afterburn there and back again with that
- amount of fuel."
-
- "We have to stay light to get there quickly. Boss has arranged a mid-air
- refueling with a KC tanker on the return leg. Let's get to it."
-
- .bold
- To refuel: Approach the tanker from the rear until you are about 500 feet
- from the rear and match speeds. Hit <Esc>, click on the Cheat menu,
- Unlimited Fuel, then <Esc>. Immediately hit <Esc> again and turn off
- Unlimited fuel. Voila, a full tank. If your wingman bails because he's out
- of fuel, assume he refueled and made it back. (Best I could do...)

- MISSION SUCCESS

- "Holy shit, Eagle. That was a hell of a mess."
-
- The ringing in my ears wouldn't stop. Supersonic speeds combined with all
- the close missile hits had given me a serious headache. The scrambled
- fighters on the way back had made it far too interesting for my tortured
- little Starfighter. It was going to be spare parts after this one. "I think
- I'm gonna lay down and nap for a week. Anybody got some aspirin for the Old
- Man?"

- MISSION FAILURE
- .left
- .body
- Although the intensity and challenge of this mission is high, so is the
- importance. You have not come through when Boss needed you most. This is a
- great disappointment. The Russians will now probably move in overwhelming
- force. You have to get your wingmen to hold up the MiGs while you strike the
- block house, and then high tail it out of there!
