Flying the A-10
..underline
.body
With a full weapons load, the A-10 doesn't rotate well off the runway. Look for a stall speed of about 90 Knots, then establish a 12 1/2 degree climb rate. Bring the gear up, at about 110 Knots retract flaps and head toward the target.
The air brake is ineffective on the A-10, you will have to use the Flaps to slow you down. A good loiter speed on the battlefield is about 150 Knots (30 - 40% thrust), vary your speed with flaps.
If you are sucessful, you can have some additional fun on the North side of the island, where some tanks are heading N/E along the coast (You may want to send your wingman home for this additional fun). Remember, the Tanks shoot back!
