We have discovered several hardened misile silos on Anikaa Island. This strategic threat must be dealt with as soon as possible.

MISSION OBJECTIVE
..underline
.body
Fly your B-52 north and destroy the silos. This is a long mission, be patient however, you will find several exciting places along the way that are worth watching (especially with your Radar Warning Scope).
A package of F/A-18's from the Eisenhower will help remove some of the SAMs from your path. Expect heavy surface to air acivity. Do not vary from the flight plan, mission planners have done their best to avoid threats.

FLYING THE B-52:
..underline
.body
TAKEOFF: Don't get frustrated trying to takeoff in the B-52. First, put your brake on and bring the engines up to full RPM then release the brake and begin your takeoff roll.
The stall speed indicated is a little misleading, you'll need about 130-132 knots indicated to lift off.
After you rotate off the runway, establish your rate of climb at 2 1/2 degrees. At approximately 250 feet retract your gear, stay at 2 1/2 degrees, when the airspeed reaches 155 - 160 knots retract flaps. Don't exceed a climb rate of 5 degrees.
After you reach 180 plus knots your best rate of climb will be about 12 1/2 degrees, you can play with this number if you want. You may want to go to the cheat menu and turn on "No Turbulance," flying without any cheats is possible ! but, very tough.
LANDING: Stay on glideslope but make sure your airspeed stays above 150 knots, if the airspeed goes below about 145 knots you will drop like a rock! This will positively be a hot landing.
Remember your flying an airplane with a T/O weight of 300,000 + pounds.
MISC: Stay on course! Let the autopilot fly the airplane, except when you are inbound near the target, that way you can devote your time to the chaff dispenser!
You will need to remove excess fuel from your airplane to meet the T/O weight requirements for this airfield. (see special fuel requirements below)

You Didn't crash ! (very important). You survived the SAM's, I've counted as many as 45 launches before!

MISSION FAILURE

You didn't destroy the bunkers, or you crashed. If the SAM's got you remember to watch your Radar Warning Scope fire one or two volleys of Chaff when the missile is about 2-2 1/2 miles from your airplane.
