-
QuickStart

-
We have tried to design SafetyNet to be up and protecting your computer
- system within minutes of installation. In fact, simply by entering your
- personal password and clicking on start will immediately provide a high
- level of protection! Later, as you define your needs, you can also expand
- SafteyNet's protection by adding custom 'trigger' words to its aresenal.

-
Setting the Password:

-
The very first screen you will see when installing SafetyNet is the password
- screen. This is an
- important step, and care should be taken to select a password that will
- not be easily guessed by other users of the system, such as employees
- or children.

-
In order to ensure that the original password was spelled correctly,
- SafetyNet also asks you to retype the password as confirmation. If both
- passwords match, you have completed the first step of enabling the program.
-

-
Note: The password you chose here will be needed to access any/all
- of the programs sensitive functions. If you forget it or it otherwise
- becomes unavailable, you will need to contact technical support in order
- to unlock or uninstall this program.

-
Entering Custom Trigger Words:

-
The next step is entering a list of custom trigger words. SafetyNet installs
- with a list of over 300 objectionable words and phrases, which meets the
- needs of most users. The objectionable word list was culled from a veriety
- of sources, and has been tested thoroughly. If you are comfortable with
- this built in system, you can skip this step entirely.

-

-
If you would like a copy of the built in word list, please send an email
- to words@sitecensor.com and
- you will recieve the most current list. A word of caution - this list
- is quite explicit and is not reccomended for casual reading.

-
To add a word or phrase, click on the 'Unlock' button in the middle of
- the main screen. You will need to enter your password, after which time
- the trigger word list is displayed, and add/update/delete options are
- enabled. Click the 'Add New' button at the top of the screen.

-
Enter the word or phrase you have in mind in the 'Title' text box. Care
- should be taken to ensure specificity - using general or vague word combinations
- will often cause unexpected closures.

-
Next select from the following options:

-

-
Starts With - will close any window who's caption starts with
- your custom words.

-
Contains - will close any window who's caption contains your
- custom words.

-
Matches - will close any window whos caption exactly matches
- your customer words.

-
Case Sensitive - If you choose this option SafetyNet will only
- trigger a window closure if there is an exact case match. If it is left
- unchecked, SafetyNet disregards case.

-

-
Next, click on the save button. Your new trigger word / phrase will now
- be part of SafetyNet's scan.

-
Starting and Stopping SafetyNet

-
In order to activate SafetyNet, all you need do is click on the Start
- button at the top of the main screen and enter your password. If you are
- in 'monitor' mode, you will notice that the lower half of the screen will
- display the scan data as SafetyNet monitors your system. To minimize SafetyNet,
- click on the 'Hide' button, which will make the main screen disappear,
- although SafetyNet will continue to monitor your system.

-
In order to stop SafetyNet's monitoring, simply click on the Stop button
- at the top of the screen. You can now also safely exit the program.
