  23. The full version of Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain for Windows 95 will include the

  44. About Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain
  45. ================================

  47. Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain is an epic RPG where you play Kain, a brash nobleman 
  48. who is murdered and reincarnated as a vampire. As a vampire, Kain must suck 
  49. blood, use weapons and spells, and solve puzzles in a quest to save his ailing 
  50. world of Nosgoth. In this special preview edition, the player gets a chance 
  51. to experience Kain's world and peek into the complex story that is still to come. . .

  58. Make sure that DirectX version 3.0 is installed on your system before playing 
  59. Kain.

  61. To run the demo, double-click on KAINDEMO.EXE.

  87. To attack enemies in Kain, use the CTRL key to attack with his sword. 
  88. When the enemies begin to waver, Kain can suck their blood with the ALT key.
  89.  
  90. To use a spell in Kain, open the spell Quickmenu by hitting F3. Next, use 
  91. the arrow keys to highlight a spell and then hit ENTER to select it. To cast 
  92. the prepared spell, use the SPACE key.

  94. To quit Kain, press ESC and choose "NO" when asked if you want to restart 
  95. the game. Then choose "YES" when asked if you want to Exit the game.

  98. Notes About the Preview Version of Kain
  99. =======================================

  101. To toggle through the available modes on your video monitor, hit the F12 key.
  102.  
  103. Because Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain for Windows 95 is still under development, 
  104. this preview version may not work properly on the Matrox Millenium graphics 
  105. adapter. This deficiency will be corrected in the release version of Kain. 
  106.  
  107. If you experience problems running Legacy of Kain, try turning off the 
  108. ENABLE 3D ACCELERATION option in the DirectX setup program.  To disable 
  109. 3D Acceleration, double click on the DXSETUP icon located in the \DirectX\ 
  110. directory, and then uncheck the option for 3D acceleration in the middle of 
  111. the DX Setup window.

  115. Non Functional Items in this Demo
  116. =================================
  117.  
  118. Multiple resolutions are not enabled. Kain will only play at 320x240x16
  119. bit color in this version of the game. The full version of Kain will also 
  120. support 640x480 resolution.

  122. Kain cannot change to any other form in this demo. Why? Because Kain has not 
  123. yet discovered any tokens to allow him to change his form when this preview 
  124. version ends. The full version of Kain will support four additional forms for 
  125. Kain: Disguised Nobleman, Wolf, Bat and Mist.

  127. Loading and saving games is not enabled in this preview version. The full 
  128. version of games will support mutliple saved games.
  129.  
  130. The Preview button does not function in this demo. A very special sneak preview 
  131. of another Crystal Dynamics title will be included with the full version of Kain.
  132.  
  133. The Dark Diary is not functional in this preview version of the game. In the 
  134. full version of Kain, the dark diary provides a cinematic history of Kain's 
  135. encounters.
