- Intro: With the release of Wildcat 3.9 RIP graphics hit the market and the
- Wildcat Sysops square in the face. For some people, RIP graphics and the
- proper use of text windows came second nature. For others, like me, it did
- not come easy and still does not. However, I think I am getting the hang of
- it and wanted to help the other Wildcat Sysops with their screen problems.
- So I wrote this QuickRip program for you.
-
- What it does: QuickRip does not actually "Make" a rip screen....some other
- programs say they do but I suspect they only do what mine does here. This
- program makes an attractive RIP border with your BBS logo on the top and
- sets up a almost full screen text window for your BBS or Ansi screens to
- display in. This takes care of the problem of viewers seeing your Ansi
- screens 2 lines at a time down in that little text window of the default
- RIP menus that 3.9 shipped with! This makes it EASIER ON YOU!!
-
- How to use QuickRip: *Quickrip can be run on ANY .SCR or .BBS screen!!!
- 1. Just put the executable in your WC30 directory and put the config file in
- there too. Edit the config file to show the path to your display file area
- and don't forget the trailing backslash!
- 2. Now just make sure you are in the WC30 directory and then just type
- QUICKRIP SCREENNAME
- Where Screenname is the name of the file you wish to have a RIP version of.
- For example....I use the WCTODAY program to make a Who Called Today Screen.
- On my board it is Hello4.BBS So in the postcall.bat I use the following
- command to make a RIP version of that screen for my RIP callers.
- cd\wc30
- Quickrip Hello4.BBS
- This makes a RIP bordered version of the original Hello4.BBS and leaves the
- original intact for the NON-RIP callers! This will also work just fine
- for any .SCR file as well with the same command...it would just be
- cd\wc30
- Quickrip Hello4.SCR
- This assumes the Hello4 was an .SCR screen instead of a .BBS screen.
- HELP: Help may be obtained if you need it by calling my BBS in Austin TX
- at (512) 288-0571 and 0577 and just leave me a comment.
