  13.   I  first started the Mates program back in 1993 and have used it
  14.   on Event Horizons and 3rd Millennium since.
  15.  
  16.   The program is designed for heavy adult chat, about what you'd expect
  17.   in any adult chat system. However, the databases could be re-written
  18.   for non-adult subjects. My interest is in the non-adult area. How-
  19.   ever, I do enjoy making a profit so I've never moved into a different
  20.   subject area.

  22.   The Mates program simulates chat by parsing and examining user input.
  23.   If there is no exact match, Mates will use the best of two words to
  24.   identify a response. If there is no match, Mates will vary a list
  25.   of canned responses. So, this is more than a simple match to a one
  26.   word program.

  28.   Mates also uses simulated typing, type errors, and a little spell
  29.   checking. The results can be quite amazing.

  31.   A log of each "chat" sessions written to disk with .LOG as the
  32.   extension. The mate will tell your callers sexy stories which
  33.   look just like the real thing.

  35.   In addition, there is a large dictionary, more spelling checking and
  36.   word structure program. But I may not release this, unless I find a
  37.   very good programmer I can trust to work with it along side myself.
  38.   I think it could be developed well. Someone with very limited pro-
  39.   gramming experience could easily completely change the databases or
  40.   improve on them drastically. It's just a time factor I don't have.
  41.   So, if you're very interested, give me a call and convince me. Please
  42.   don't call the BBS and leave messages. Talk to me voice. That's the
  43.   way I work.

  45.   The Mates Program and all associated files are copyrighted software.
  46.   You may not change or modify the TPG in any form whatsoever. However,
  47.   all other files may be changed as you wish, depending on your pro-
  48.   gramming ability and your knowledge of dbase. However, you may not,
  49.   in any way change or modify any files which have a tendency to hide
  50.   or cloak the identity of the author (Jim Maxey), the BBS info at the
  51.   beginning of the program, or in any way lead the player to believe
  52.   the program or concept, or actual, belongs to anyone other than the
  53.   author. You also may not use any of the files or databases outside
  54.   of this program in any way. If you have a problem with this in any
  55.   form, you may not use the program or any associated files.
