  107.       In addition to providing many essential features such as CD-ROM
  108.       support, archive extraction, GIF previewing, and real-time faxing,
  109.       FTS PRO gives users an easy and powerful interface and provides
  110.       sysops with more flexibility than ever.  With FTS PRO sysops
  111.       can define an unlimited number of File Areas for their
  112.       users... CD-ROM File Directories can be ONLINE side by side
  113.       with File Directories on the hard drive.

  115.       Users can easily scan these File Areas (comments and extended
  116.       descriptions included), tagging any number of files at a time
  117.       for download.  Unlike many existing file systems, FTS PRO gives
  118.       the user the capability to scroll both up and down in a File

  158.    The File Management System:

  160.       No other TBBS file system to date incorporates substantial
  161.       online file management.  The File Management System (FMS)
  162.       is a sophisticated management program supplementing the
  163.       powerful design of FTS PRO.

  165.       FMS makes editing/adding descriptions and comments as well
  166.       as moving/copying/deleting/adding files a snap; the
  167.       descriptions can even be imported from any text file within
  168.       an archive!  Equally as important, the FMS interface has
  169.       been designed to allow for the smallest learning curve
  170.       possible, making FMS one of the most intuitive management
  171.       systems ever written.

  173.       In addition to its sophisticated file handling functions,
  174.       FMS has the ability to alert the sysop of files listed in
  175.       the File Directory which do not exist on the disk.
  176.       Conversely, FMS can determine files that exist on the disk
  177.       but not in the File Directory.  This makes adding new files
  178.       as simple as copying them to the DOS sub-directory you want

  195.       The Sysop Control Panel (SYSCTRL) provides even greater ONLINE
  196.       functionality to the FTS PRO system.  TICK processing allows
  197.       systems connected to File Distribution Networks such as SDN to
  198.       import their file packets WITHOUT shutting down to run TICK.
  199.       Additionally, if server control software is being used the
  200.       archive will be scanned for a FILE_ID.DIZ extended description
  201.       file and, if present, will use it instead of the one line TICK
  202.       description.  Furthermore, a RENAME option is provided to allow
  203.       automatically renaming files during the import process
  204.       (eg: .SDN to .ARJ).

  206.       SYSCTRL also provides ONLINE ASCII file list creation, including
  207.       the File Directories, .FAR files, and .ALL master list files!

  210.       location or ONLINE status of any disk configured, which makes
  211.       CD-ROM rotations a snap!

  217.       Never again will you be forced to edit a confusing text
  218.       configuration file, create directories, or perform specific

  221.       PROSETUP is a professional menu and mouse driven DOS application
  222.       with full online help and a highly intuitive interface.  It rids
  223.       you of the complicated command line switches which push your Opt

  245.    BBS software developers and operators realized the need for server
  246.    control software several years ago as an important step in expanding
  247.    the capabilities of BBS systems.  For integrated multitasking BBS
  248.    systems such as TBBS and The Major BBS, server control software has
  249.    almost become a requirement for creating a versatile system.
  250.  
  251.    Because integrated multitasking programs become the operating system
  252.    rather than run on top of it, individual nodes cannot execute DOS
  253.    programs or commands.  This severly limits the operations that can be
  254.    performed by the BBS: simple things like running PKUNZIP are impossible!
  255.    Server control software overcomes this major limitation.  CopyIt/2 is
  256.    the premier server control software for PC-DOS and OS/2.

  258.    In its most basic context, CopyIt/2 waits for request files from any
  259.    CopyIt/2 enabled application.  CopyIt/2 then dynamically schedules
  260.    current tasks and sends a response to each application.  There is no
  261.    limit to the number of tasks or requests CopyIt/2 can handle at one time.

  263.    CopyIt/2 was originally written to expand the functionality of
  264.    FTS PRO (our replacement for the standard TBBS file system);
  265.    however, it was designed with many potential applications in mind.
  266.    With FTS PRO, CopyIt/2 enables zero-impact CD-ROM support, archive
  267.    extraction, GIF previewing, real-time faxing, and other features which
  268.    can only be accomplished with server control software:

  270.    CD-ROM:  CopyIt/2's most useful feature may be its zero-impact
  271.    CD-ROM support.  When a users marks files for download on a CD-ROM, those
  272.    files should be copied to a hard drive for download.  If the BBS machine
  273.    is forced to handle all of these disk intensive tasks, its performance
  274.    suffers tremendously.  With CopyIt/2, the BBS simply sends a message
  275.    to the server telling it to copy all marked files.  When enough of the
  276.    files have been copied, the server will send a message back to the BBS
  277.    that it is safe to start the download.

  279.    ARCHIVE EXTRACTION:  Users can extract any archive format ONLINE as
  280.    long as the extraction utility exists on the server.  Users can then
  281.    view and download any internal files.

  283.    GIF PREVIEWING:  Users can view any number of GIF files at one time by
  284.    compressing them into a single GIF.
  285.  
  286.    REAL-TIME FAXING:  A fax module supplements CopyIt/2.  The CI2FAX module
  287.    allows CopyIt/2 to process fax requests from a BBS as well as providing
  288.    several fax utilities.

  290.    SHELLING:  CopyIt/2 can suspend its execution in order to run another
  291.    application.

  293.    SPAWNING:  Under OS/2, CopyIt/2 can spawn native OS/2 processes which
  294.    OS/2 manages simultaneously while CopyIt/2 continues to execute.

  296.    Several of CopyIt/2's features have been utilized in our other software
  297.    products including RFS and FRS.  Additionally, CopyIt/2's interface
  298.    specification is available to anyone interested in developing software

  393.    request for OFFLINE files.

  396.    marking OFFLINE requests.  FRS will prompt for the disks needed to supply

  438.         update his own information.  After successfully completing
  439.         all required fields, the user is upgraded based on a

  444.               URS-VIEW displays the information used by URS as

  447.               and downloads.  The Sysop can search for names that sound
  448.               similar and jump to a specific record.  URS-VIEW can print
  449.               individual users as well as export all user information
  450.               to a standard database file or to an ASCII text file.

  464.    database of these subscriptions.  It also automatically manages
  465.    expirations based on predefined subscription rates and will upgrade or
  466.    reset the user using TBBS compatible userlog templates.  USS is
  467.    extremely versatile and can be used on a variety of systems; here are

  471.       as a donation only system.

  506.    interface then allows users to browse the mail areas, reading, scanning,
  507.    and entering messages in various conferences.  ProMail autodetects RIP
  508.    callers and provides a point and click RIP interface.
