- <B> Base Directory
- <N> Zetafax is usually installed on the file server under a
- <N> single base directory. The installation process creates a
- <N> subdirectory structure to hold the various programs and data
- <N> files. Each Zetafax user will also have a directory structure
- <N> within this file storage of documents, graphics etc.
- <N>
- <N> We recommend that you make the Zetafax base directory a
- <N> subdirectory of the root rirectory (e.g. F:\ZFAX) rather than
- <N> many levels deep, since a number of levels will be created
- <N> under it. The directories will need to be accessed by both the
- <N> fax server PC and by the workstation - more details of the
- <N> permissions required are given below, but the installation
- <N> program and fax server will require full access to the base
- <N> directory.
- <N>
- <B> User File Access
- <N> The files used by Zetafax are split between four different
- <N> areas depending on the type of access required by the
- <N> workstations. These are listed below, together with the type
- <N> access required by the workstations to all files and
- <N> subdirectories in that area.
- <N>
- <N> There are four main <B>areas<N> within the Zetafax file
- <N> structure comprising subdirectories and files. The following
- <N> list gives the access rights or permissions required for
- <N> workstations. You should set up these access rights
- <N> if you wish to use all of the permissioning features of
- <N> Zetafax.
- <N>
- <B> Server area: zfax\SERVER (workstation access: NONE)
- <B> System area: zfax\SYSTEM (workstation access: READ-ONLY)
- <B> Users area: zfax\USERS\username (owning users only: FULL)
- <B> Request area: zfax\REQUEST (workstation acess: FULL)
- <N>
- <N> Provided you are not concerned with privacy between users
- <N> it may be simpler to give all users full access to the
- <N> complete Zetafax file structure.
