  5. Lnx4Win allows you to install Linux directly on a windows partition.

  12. I - Requirements:
  13.  
  14. - Hardware system compatible with Linux Mandrake 6.0.
  15. - 64Mb RAM
  16. - 300 Mb free space on Windows partition.
  17. - Windows(tm) 95/98

  19. II - Start
  20.  
  21. Please follow these steps carefully :
  22.  
  23. - Run scandisk to clean up your system.
  24. - Run install.bat script.
  25. - Run setup.bat script from lnx4win installed directory.
  26. - Choose an installation method(hd, cdrom or network).
  27. - Select the linux system size.
  28. - Select the linux swap size.
  29. - Enable or disable the choose in boot menu. If you enable it, you will see a boot menu which allow you to start Windows or Linux-Mandrake.
  30. - Enable or disable the warning before booting in Linux.
  31. - Enable or disable creation of the desktop shorcuts.
  32. - Press Ok to begin the system installation under Linux.

  34. III - Installation of the system
  35.  
  36. - Wait until the format and setup image is done.
  37. - The installation procedure is the same as standard installation but without
  38.   all partitionment and bootloader installation steps.
  39. - When you select package you must let 5Mb free to correctly install the kernel.
  40. - When the installation is finished, you can reboot under Windows.
  41. - If you have selected the boot menu installation you can select 'Linux' if not
  42.   you can boot by clicking on the Linux icon on your desktop or start menu.

  44. IV - Desinstallation of the system

  46. - Run uninstall.bat script.
  47. - Remove latest files manually.
  48. - Run scandisk program.
