- Egon Ronay has a certain affinity for food, so it's no surprise
- that Egon Ronay's Guide to Pubs and Inns also gives a fair
- emphasis to lunch and dinner. Published at around £13 by
- Egon Ronay's Guides (he likes to see his name in print), the book
- is arranged by place name, but there's a 'regional roundup' with
- summary details by county to check out pubs in your area. Clear
- two-colour maps help too. Although neatly laid out on the page,
- the entries are quite variable in format.

- Instructions on how
- to find a place (usually good) can be almost anywhere, and food
- isn't even mentioned if not recommended, while it can dominate
- an entry otherwise. This guide isn't as comprehensive as The Good
- Pub Guide, nor as foody as Good Pub Food, but would compliment
- either as there are a fair number of different choices. The guide
- makes a big thing of not charging pubs to appear in it, though
- the very visibly sponsorship by a brewery and a cheese company
- makes this holier-than-thou attitude a little indelicate.
