A model, and skeleton, of the dodo, a bird now synonymous with extinct species all over the world. Since man colonised Mauritius the dodo has not been the only casualty: unique species now lost to the island and the world include 11 out of 21 birds, two out of three mammals and eight out of 12 reptiles.
