Resolution refers to the sharpness of a displayed image. It is measured by counting the number of dots, known on a screen as pixels, that can be displayed both horizontally and vertically on the screen. A monitor is specified with a maximum resolution, eg 1280 by 1024 dpi, although this can only actually be achieved if the graphics card can also cope with that resolution.............................
