  14. ORDER NOW!!! This version is the shareware version
  15. of Color Book.  The full featured version includes
  16. the capability to save and open pictures and 
  17. implements printer support in addition to providing
  18. over 5X's as many pictures to be colored on!

  21. For ordering information and pricing please read the 
  22. "Order.txt" file in the directory where Color Book
  23. is installed.

  25. ____SETUP/INSTALLATION PROCEDURES_________________
  26.  
  27. 1.  Place the downloaded file (CBOOKV10.ZIP) in any 
  28. temporary directory (such as C:\temp).
  29.  
  30. 2. Use a utility such as PKZip or WinZip to unzip the
  31. downloaded file in any temp directory (ie C:\temp). 
  32. If you do not have either of these programs they can
  33. be downloaded many different BBS/shareware sites.
  34.  
  35. 3. Once unzipped, simply click the Setup.exe file located
  36. in the directory that you unzipped "CBOOKV10.ZIP"
  37. to.  The Setup program give you the opportunity to
  38. modify the default installation directory (currently
  39. C:\Program Files\Color Book\colorbook.exe)
  40.  
  41. 4. The setup program will also put the program into
  42. the "Add/Remove Programs" folder in the Control Box.
  43. If you decided to delete or un-install the Color Book
  44. program do so from the Control Box.
  45.

  47. 1.  The following suggestions will enhance your child's 
  48. enjoyment of the Color Book program, while making the
  49. program as 'kid safe' as possible:
  50.  
  51.    -After installing the program, place a short cut to
  52.     the Color Book program on your desktop.
  53.  
  54.    -Run the program from the desktop shortcut with no
  55.     other windows open.  
  56.  
  57. Performing the above actions will limit your child's
  58. ability to access to the desktop while the program
  59. is running via "Alt/Tab" key combination.  
  60.  
  61. ____USE/FEATURES_________________________________
  62.  
  63. 1. The Color Book program only runs on Windows95
  64. in a maxmized window.  This window cannot be moved,
  65. or resized while the program is running, these 
  66. features are by design to help minimize your
  67. child's access to the rest of your computer's 
  68. programs and data.

  71.    WARNING: YOUR CHILD WILL STILL HAVE ACCESS
  72. TO THE HARD DRIVE WHEN CHOOSING THE "SAVE",
  73. "SAVE AS" AND "OPEN" BUTTONS/MENUS WITHIN
  74. THE PROGRAM.  YOU SHOULD NOT LEAVE YOUR 
  75. CHILD UNATTENDED WHILE USING THE COLOR BOOK
  76. PROGRAM.

  79. 2.  To color, simply select a color from the 
  80. "etch-a-sketch" palette by left clicking and
  81. dragging the mouse while holding the left button
  82. down over the picture area.
  83.  
  84. 3.  Different sized color widths can be selected
  85. from the windows tool bar or custom sizes can be
  86. selected from the menu under "Color Tools".
  87. Pictures will automatically redraw the black
  88. outlines if colored over when the mouse button
  89. is released. 
  90.  
  91. 4.  To erase a small area click the small eraser
  92. on the palette tool bar and repeat the steps
  93. listed above for drawing. To erase an entire
  94. picture and start over drag the "etch-a-sketch"
  95. -like palette window over the entire picture
  96. and all coloring will be erased.
  97.  
  98. 5.  To save (available in REGISTERED version
  99. only), use the "alt + Save" from the main
  100. menu or choose the icon on the main window's
  101. tool bar that looks like a book with a piggy 
  102. bank on it.  NOTE: Once a picture has been
  103. saved, only additional drawing can be performed
  104. when the saved file is re-opened at a later time.
  105. Any attempt to erase colors from a previously 
  106. saved file will fail.  
  107.  
  108. 6.  When closing the program a window will open
  109. asking if you really want to close the program,
  110. this must be responded to by pressing "OK" 
  111. within approximately three (3) seconds.  
  112. Pressing "CANCEL" will abort the program 
  113. shutdown.  Likewise not choosing either button
  114. will return the user to normal program operation
  115. within approximately three (3) seconds.  This
  116. feature is added as an additional precaution
  117. to minimize small children's ability to exit
  118. the program and have access to the desktop.  
  119.  
  120. NOTE: THE CHILD/DATA SAFETY FEATURES ARE NOT
  121. MEANT TO BE A SUBSTITUTE FOR ADULT SUPERVISION.
