  14. This file contains some information about the installation and the correct 
  15. functioning of the MCI drivers which are necessary to the program 
  16. WinAsks Professional 2.0 to use the following file types:
  17. - .WAV and .MID sounds
  18. - .AVI videos

  29. 1) Drivers for .WAV e .MID sounds 
  30. -------------------------------

  32. If you have a properly installed sound card, MCI drivers for .WAV and .MID 
  33. sounds should be already present on your system. On the contrary try to 
  34. play a .WAV and a .MID sound file using Windows Multimedia Player. If you 
  35. hear nothing, then check if your sound card is properly installed and, in 
  36. case, contact your dealer. Instead if using  Multimedia Player you hear the 
  37. sound file correctly, while WinAsks Player shows an error message if it 
  38. loads a questionnaire containing sound files, then follow instructions 
  39. below:

  41. 1. In the WIN.INI file placed in the directory \WINDOWS, find section 
  42. [Mci Extensions]. Add (if not already present) the following two rows
  43.  
  44. wav=WaveAudio
  45. mid=Sequencer
  46.  
  47. 2. Restart Windows.

  50. 2) Drivers for .AVI videos
  51. ------------------------

  53. If you're using Windows 3.x (not Windows 95) to use .AVI videos it's 
  54. necessary to have the Microsoft Video for Windows kit installed. This 
  55. program can be obtained freely from many fonts (ex. directly from
  56. Microsoft). After installation, if you still have problems follow 
  57. instructions below:

  59. 1. In the WIN.INI file placed in the directory \WINDOWS, check if  the
  60. following row exists (and in case add it):

  64. 2. If you have added it, restart Windows
