  5. Take ONE is a program to process bitmaps and to create
  6. animations under WINDOWS. This shareware version gives
  7. you the opportunity to test Take ONE. Any further
  8. private or commercial use of Take ONE and the runtime
  9. module RUNTAKE requires registration. To register and
  10. to get the licensed version, which provides several
  11. additional features, send your check or money order

  54. To install Take ONE call the setup program from WINDOWS by
  55. selecting RUN from the FILE menu of the program manager. The
  56. setup program can then be started by typing:
  57.  
  58.         [Drive] SETUP.EXE                (e.g. A:SETUP.EXE)
  59.  
  60. in the command line and choosing OK. In the Setup window you
  61. can then enter your desired installation path and select the
  62. components you want to install.
  63. The default is set to install Take ONE completely so you just
  64. have to press the OK-button.

  68. What can Take ONE be used for ?

  71. You can use Take ONE to create and modify bitmap images which
  72. can be loaded and saved in the WINDOWS bitmap format (BMP). They
  73. can be imported and exported, using the clipboard, for use in
  74. other applications. In addition these bitmaps can be used to
  75. create animations which can be used e.g. for simple
  76. presentations, cartoons or slide shows with your scanned
  77. holiday pictures. Or what about a greeting card or an
  78. invitation on disk?

  85. A description of all funtions is provided in the helpfile
  86. which can be viewed by choosing HELP on the Take ONE menu bar.
  87. To get an idea of how animations are created with Take ONE,
  88. select OPEN SEQUENCE in the FILE menu of Take ONE and choose one
  89. of the demostration animations. After loading the sequence, all
  90. required frames are shown on the film and can be edited in the
  91. edit window on the left side. To start the animation select RUN
  92. from the ANIMATION menu. To get a particular area of a frame into
  93. the edit window, it is recommended to click on the desired frame
  94. area on the film using the right mouse button, rather than using
  95. the scrollbars. If you are using a video device driver providing
  96. 256 colors, these can be used by double clicking a color (except
  97. black and white) in the color window which is left of the edit
  98. window. However this is only possible if the frame format
  99. is also set to 256 colors. To view or alter the frame format
  100. select FRAME FORMAT from the SEQUENCE menu.

  107. To run the animations Take ONE uses a hardware timer so the
  108. created animations have the same speed on every PC, independent
  109. from the hardware configuration used. Due to the nature of
  110. WINDOWS, animations run smoother in the standard
  111. mode of WINDOWS than in the extended 386-mode. Another
  112. possibile way to run animations is to use the multitasking
  113. facility of WINDOWS which allows the animation to run as a
  114. background application. This method makes animations
  115. smother and faster, also in the extended 386-mode. This
  116. shareware version only provides the timer method but the
  117. registered version provides both methods.
