  4.   I  have  been  thinking for a long time whether or not I should release
  5.   this  preview  version and whether or not I should accept registrations
  6.   of  this preview version.  I decided to do both, since I don't know any
  7.   disk  editor  which could replace DisKey and if I were a user, I really
  8.   would  miss  this  program...   To  avoid too much distribution of this
  9.   preview  version,  I  have  done many restrictions on the distribution.
  10.   However, every person should be able to get a version of this program.

  12.   I  also  was  thinking  for  a long time whether or not I should inform
  13.   registered  users  about this preview version.  I decided not to inform
  14.   them  for  no, since I cannot expect that they accept a preview version
  15.   as update.  However, every registered user can get this preview version
  16.   as  update,  if  he  wants.   If you speak or write in the public about
  17.   DisKey  3.0  preview,  I please you to mention this fact.  You probably
  18.   will  avoid  some  trouble  to the users and to me if you do so.  Thank
  19.   you!   If  too  many  registered users protest against this rule, maybe
  20.   I'll reconsider, but I'm sure I can't please all men...  :-(

  46.   Comment:   in  case the old keyfile would get invalid in future (e.  g.
  47.   because  of  pirate  copies),  you can get a new keyfile for 3 DM or $2
  48.   plus  shipping.  As long as the keyfile stays valid you can get updates
  49.   from sources for freely distributable software.

  51.   The  author reserves the right to block keyfiles which have been spread
  52.   in  future  versions.   Their  users  won't get updates anymore nor new
  53.   registrations.

  56. What does shipping cost?

  58.   Please  include  a  stamped and addressed envelope or pay the following
  59.   shipping costs:

  61.      Shipping within Europe......  7 DM or $5
  62.      Shipping outside Europe..... 10 DM or $7

  64.   Note:  if you include a stamped envelope, please consider that a letter
  65.   which  contains  a  disk  weights  more  than 20 gramm.  At the moment,
  66.   shipping  a disk within Germany costs 2 DM.  However you should ask the
  67.   post about the actual fee.

  70. What will I get for my money?

  72.   You  will  be  registered  and  you  get a keyfile which suppresses the
  73.   annoying   requesters  and  which  allows  writing  on  large  devices.
  74.   Additionally,  you  can  request  new  versions  (prices see above).  A
  75.   printed manual is not yet available and I don't know whether there will
  76.   be  an english version in future or not.  So you probably will only get
  77.   the  same  documentation  which is included in the freely distributable
  78.   version.

  80.   Since  informing  new users for updates required a *lot* of time in the
  81.   past, I won't do this automatically in future.  However you can send me
  82.   a  post card which I will put into a shoebox and as soon as there comes
  83.   an  update  I'll  throw  it  into  the  postbox.  This postcard must be
  84.   stamped  and adressed - I really won't do any more but throwing it into
  85.   the postbox.

  92. How can I pay the fee?

  94.   I suggest to pay using a cheque.  This seems to be rather save.  But be
  95.   sure  I  get the requested money if I exchange it at the bank.  Cash is
  96.   accepted, too, but I'm not liably if the money gets lost.  If you don't
  97.   have  to pay more than 5 DM, you may send me some stamps.  Please don't
  98.   send single stamps with a value of more than 2 DM.

  101. Authors of other programs

  103.   If   you've   written   a  *good*  program,  you  might  want  to  swap
  104.   registrations.  I swap for freeware, too, if the program is good, since
  105.   I  think  programmers  who  write  good  programs  should be supported.
  106.   Restriction for such a deal is OS 2 compatibiliby.  The program must be
  107.   conform  with  the  style guide (wherever it makes sense).  It must not
  108.   throw  enforcer hits nor mungwall hits and must be stable.  If you want
  109.   to  swap  your  program  for a registration of DisKey, you should write
