- Getting started
- ---------------
-
- Virtual Truck Installer is a lightweight application that sets up
- your computer for high-speed Internet access. Virtual Truck steps
- you through various tasks necessary to install your Internet connection.
- Some screens collect information, some configure the computer's settings,
- and others perform tests.
-
- Virtual Truck Installer is never installed, so you don't need to
- uninstall anything after you run Virtual Truck.

- Version 1.8 issues
- ------------------
-
-
- Macintosh
-
- >> Virtual Truck can stop responding if other
- Internet applications are running in the background.
-
- >> If you cancel during the installation of a
- PPPoE client application, Virtual Truck can stop responding.
-
- >> Virtual Truck can report an incorrect error
- message when loading the PPPoE configuration file.
-
- >> You may receive an error When installing a PPPoA or PPPoE connection
- if you have never before opened the Modem control panel. If you receive
- an error stating "An error (unknown) occurred while configuring modem",
- quit Virtual Truck, open the Modem control panel, close the control panel,
- click "Save", then run Virtual Truck again.
-
- >> On Mac OS X 10.0.4, Virtual Truck may try to set the network configuration
- without first prompting you for an administrator password. If this
- happens, the configuration will not succeed, and the Internet tests
- will fail. Quit Virtual Truck and run it again. Virtual Truck will
- behave correctly the second time.
-
- >> On Mac OS X 10.0 and later, text files launch SimpleText (under Classic)
- by default. You will not be able to view the report file when you quit
- Virtual Truck unless Classic is already running.
-
- >> Apple Help is available on Mac OS 8.6 and later only. To view help on
- OS 8.5, open the VTI Help folder and drag VirtualTruckHelp.htm onto
- your web browser.
-
-
-
-
- Windows
-
- >> If you click the Help button in Virtual Truck on Windows 95 OSR1,
- you may get an error stating "An error exists in this Help
- file. Contact your application vendor for an updated Help file
- (1024)." You can disregard this error message. Click OK in the
- dialog box to display the help.
