PROjet is a project manager that will help you to keep organized by means of 10 ╥pages╙ (1 page per project), each page having 18 cards that jump out of their pockets at the click of a button allowing you to write notes on them, and save themselves back the same way.
Requirements:
Any Mac, System 7.0+ (I have not tested it in earlier versions so I don't know if it will work in System 6.0 or below), 1 mg of disk space and 2 mg or RAM.
Installation:
Simply drag the PROjet icon to your hard drive. Double click on the icon to run the application.
Features:
1) It is gorgeous in full color, but looks good in B&W monitors.
2) It has 10 workable pages with a total of 180 cards to write notes.
3) It has a powerful "FIND" (look for the eye icon) that will take you to the desired word in any of its 10 pages
4) It has a inline HELP where you will find all you need to know about PROjet . Besides, it is very simple an intuitive.
5) You can print any note, visible or not, clicking on the print icon.
Description of PROjet :
There is a simulated black title bar.
1) The red box at the top left of the bar quits the application, you can also quit using Command + Q. Click.
2) Click on the gray box at the top right of the same bar to invoke the real title bar in case you want to move the window to a different location. Click on the gray button again to hide the real title bar. I have done it this way to make the window resemble the look of the window of one of the forthcoming Copland System.
At the top, below the simulated title bar, you will see a blue button bar. The buttons with numbers are to navigate through the pages. If you want to go to page 5, click on the button #5 and you are there. A hilited button indicates the page where you curreltnly are.
The PRINTER'S icon let's you print any individual card, either if it is outside or inside its pocket. Click on the printer's icon and a dialog box appears prompting you for the number of the card you want to print. If you want to print more than one card, repeat the procedure as many times as necessary.
The EYE icon is a FIND button. Click on it and a dialog box appears prompting you for the word you want to find. Example: You know that there is a card with data about the Acme Co., but you don't remember which card it is on, or on what page the card is. Click on the FIND button, write Acme in the dialog box, click ╥OKAY" and you will be taken to the exact location of the ╥Acme Co.╙ data. If you can't remember on what page a certain project is on, use the FIND button to find it.
Using the cards:
Each card is in its individual pocket with a numbered box at its left. In that line you write a header, something that reminds you of the information that is on the card. When the card is out of its pocket you write on it what ever is pertinent. When you click again on the number box of this card, the card saves the information you have written on it, and goes back to its pocket.
Pages 9 and 10 have cards with scrolling fields to let you store more written information if needed.
Only two cards can be opened at the same time, one from the left row and one from the right row. To work on a third card you must first close the open card in the row you intent to work. Opening two or more cards in the same row at the same time will cause the cards to overlap and the only one shown will be the higher number.
WARNING:
When PROjet opens, the menu bar disappears. Don't panic! It will appear as soon as you click in any other open window, in the Finder or in any other place out of the PROjet window.
The menu bar will also reappear when you quit the application. It is done this way for cosmetic purposes only.
