   ocr: Sub Pop Records began lite between 1979 and - 1983 as an outlet for local scenester Bruce Pavitt's fanzine and cassette comp pilations of unsigned Seattle bands. In 1986 he revived the nam e and put out records by Green River and Soundgarden, as well as the Sub Pop 100 anthology. In April 1988, Pavitt and his new partner, onathan Poneman, inc corporated the company and began issuing singles by the likes of TAD, Nirvana and Blood Circus, as well as printing up their classic Sub Pop "Loser" t-shirts.
