Concept:
The idea behind this program came to me while working part time at my old job. I soon found a flaw with ICQ after changing desks for the twentieth time. Remembering all the ICQ #’s of my friends and coworkers was a pain. Writing them down was no fun either. I decided a program that would get my contacts info for me would be grand! And the best format would be HTML of course. You can view it on just about any computer, print from it and also put it on some web space and refer to the URL when you find yourself at a new computer that need ICQ set up for you.
It’s a good idea to keep a back up of your ICQ contact information and using my program it will make that process nice and easy... maybe even enjoyable for some =)
Uses:
First off This program is very easy to use but I’m writing allot about the process just incase!
After Opening the Application you will see an Open Dialog Box. In this Window you will want to click your way though your hard drive to find your User File which should be in the Gerry’s ICQ Folder. The User File should be the only thing that shows up except for hard drives and folders so it shouldn’t be too hard. Once you have selected the file and hit open another window will come up called a Save Dialog Box. Here you will have the chance to choose were you want the new file placed on your hard drive and what you want to name it. After doing that and hitting Save the program will quit by its self. The file that was created will look like an Internet Explorer file and if you double click on it IE will open and display the file. If you do not like IE, you can open this file in Netscape, iCab, OmniWeb, Opera, or any other web browser out there but I choose IE because it is the only browser installed in both Mac OS Environment by default.
Versions:
Currently there is a PPC and Carbon version. I’m having problems with the 68k build so it is not available. Both the PPC and Carbon builds are version 1.0.
