Flat, green, and well tended. Perfect for launching a drive down the middle of the fairwayàor into obscurity.
*Green
SimGolfÆs promised land where approach shots stick and putts roll fair and true. Grade AAA Bermuda grass, neatly manicured (Press <tab> for tricky green).
*Sand Trap
Dry, small-grain silica fill this hazard, making for a fair test of playersÆ recovery skills. Not your typical day at the beach (Press <tab> to rotate).
*Rough
Thick, long, tough grass that swallows up golf balls and makes players hate their hats. Second shots doubly challenging if a drive ends up here.
*Pot Bunker
Heavy, coarse sand lines the bottom of this pit. Players may as well dial 911 if a shot lands here.
*Stream
A gentle rush of cool water that will have players fishing for errant shots. One stroke penalty assured.
*Water
Clear, blue, and unforgiving. The most intimidating of all hazards, place these judiciously or watch your membership sail away.
*Tree
Mature, leafy, and formidable obstacle between your players and par. ItÆs best to play it safe from this lie (press <tab> to size).
*Pine tree
Fragrant conifers that make an unfettered shot at the green or fairway virtually impossible. Players donÆt want to hike in this forest (press <tab> to size).
*Palm tree
Palm tree on a Parklands course? It's a bonus feature! (press <tab> to size).
*Fairway
Close-cropped, high-quality turf that welcomes well-placed shots. Drives that find the ôshort grassö bounce high and roll long.
*Firm Fairway
Watered less frequently and cut shorter than its Fairway cousin. Shots bounce higher and roll further on this designer carpet.
*Deep rough
Long, wild, untended grass makes golf balls disappear and players curse your good name.
*Waste bunker
Fill a wide trench with coarse sand and lay in some brush and natural vegetation. Watch your players beg for mercy.
*Brush
Low, tangled, undergrowth. Players hitting into this stuff may as well pack a lunch...they're not coming out for a while.
*Rocks
Harsh outcroppings make for unpredictable bounce and aborted roll. Will lead to the ruination of clubs, spikes, and SimGolf rounds.
