1. Version 2.0 the ôElectronic Calculation Programö is a Windows program that performs several RF and one amateur radio calculation. Version 1.0 of this program just calculated values to conjugately match a transistor using either S or Y parameters as described in ôRF Circuit Designö by Chris Bowick. Version 2.0 still includes this function plus several other calculations using S or Y parameters from the same book. However, Smith chart plotting is still necessary.
Version 2.0 will also calculate Butterworth filter component values using either a known attenuation or number of circuit elements. Unfortunately, because of the complexity of the Chebyshev filter calculations, I did not include them in this version.
The Help window only includes help for the beam aiming program, because I received a new compiler before I finished and decided to quit there and start again using the new compiler. Sorry!
2. To install the program, copy it to a directory( i.e. c:\electron\ ); open Windows, and then open a program group that you wish to access this program from i.e. Applications, then select File/New Program Item/OK, enter a name at Description: i.e. RF Designer, and the path at Command Line: i.e. C:\electron\electron.exe, then select OK. You can then start the program like any other Windows program by selecting the Icon.
3. I havenÆt thoroughly tested this program for all possible inputs, I merely compared the results with that of the listed references. Anyone who has a suggestion for improvements or functions that you wish to see in future versions, can write me at:
