*** THE FREQUENCY DIRECTORY DATABASE PROGRAM INITIAL DOCUMENTATION ***
The purpose of this program is to keep track of repeaters, shortware
stations, and popular scanner frequencies (police, fire, ambulance,
air, marine, etc.) The frequency range is from 100 Hz - 100 GHz.
The maximum number of entries is limited only by disk space.
The first record of the file must contain the author's callsign.
You may add data to this system and edit your own records.
However, deletion of original data, copying of data for use in
another program, or modification of the program is prohibited.
To protect your data files - always sign off properly.
Be sure to do your backup at the end of each work day.
Press PgDn or PgUp key when finished with a record display screen.
Select Append records option to add new information.
Press PgDn or enter on last field when completed a record.
You will be asked to Save, Edit or Quit.
Select Edit records option to edit, view, search, or delete data.
Starts in search mode waiting for criteria to be
entered. Example: enter LO in city field to find all names
beginning with LO. Press PgDn to start searching.
You will see a list of options appear on the bottom of
the screen:
Continue Search Edit Delete Quit
Select Report options for printed output or screen listings.
The menu looks like the following:

Enter first letter of option
System options are for program setup and special features only.
Colors - Set the display colors on a color monitor
Defaults - Set the data directory, backup drive etc.
File directory - Lists program files on the default directory
Index - for advanced users only. Knowledge of dBase required
Memory - Shows amount of free RAM, and saves system variables
Re-sort data - sort data file by field name (FREQ, TYPE, CITY, etc.)
Security - User pass word settings 1-8 characters (default=M)

TONE - CTCSS, PL TONE IN HZ (CHARACTER FIELD), CODED SQUELCH
TYPE - TYPE OF SERVICE I.E. POL, AIR, AMB ETC.
NAME - ORGANIZATION, PERSON, GROUP, WHO (USE CAPITALS PLEASE)
*CITY - LOCATION OF TRANSMITTER(S), CITY, TOWN, OR COUNTY
AREA - PROVINCE, STATE, TERRITORY, OR COVERAGE AREA (BE CONSISTANT)
CALL - CALLSIGN OF TRANSMITTER OR OPERATOR I.E. VA3SIX
NOTES - COMMENT, OTHER INFO, SPONSOR, QUALITY, ODD OFFSET ETC.
* Indicates fields best suited for rapid searching.
The first half hour of support is free. Additional help $20/hour.
Those wishing to use advanced features must know DOS and dBASE.
The retail list price of the program is $20.
You may evaluate this program for one month at no charge.
A discount of $5 is offered on an upgrade. Original disk can
be provided as proof of purchase.
Most of the data has been compared to the latest ARRL repeater dirctory,
and various radio guides. Please report errors. Wanted - someone to assist
with repeater frequencies in several states.
