  1.                     Scanner Frequency Finder

  4. Introduction - 
  5. This shareware program is provided for you to maintain a data base
  6. of radio frequencies for use with a scanner.  The program is NOT in
  7. the public domain.  If you use the program beyond 30 days, you must
  8. register the software and pay a license fee of $25.  Registered
  9. users will receive updates to the program as well as a data file
  10. with over 6,000 listings.

  12. To register the program, select the "Complete Registration" menu
  13. choice from the main menu.  This will print the appropriate
  14. registration form.  If you do not receive your registered version
  15. within 3 weeks of mailing your form, please contact me by mail or
  16. via Compuserve (73720,3233).

  24. Using the Program -
  25. You will find that using the program is extremely easy.  Everything
  26. is menu driven.  You may look through the data in a variety of sort
  27. orders - by Name, by Service (e.g. police, fire, aircraft), by
  28. Frequency, by City, by County, or by State.  Reports can also be
  29. printed in any of there sort orders.

  31. When you select an order, you will find a table of the existing
  32. data.  You will notice an item marked "Quick Jump".  This allows
  33. you to jump to a specific point in the data table immediately.  You
  34. do not have to use this.  You may scroll through the data file by
  35. using the cursor keys as well as page-up and page-down.  When you
  36. find the item you are seeking, you may:
  37.  
  38. o    View/Edit it by pressing Enter.  This will display the full  
  39.      record.  Reaching the bottom of the record or pressing       
  40.      control-enter saves your changes.  Escape will take you out of 
  41.      the record.

  43. o    Delete it by pressing Del or Delete key.  You will be prompted 
  44.      to be sure you want to delete this record.  Deletions are    
  45.      permanent and may not be recovered.

  47. If you wish to add a new item, press Ins or Insert key.  This will
  48. display the full record for entering information.  Reaching the
  49. bottom of the record or pressing control-enter saves your data. 
  50. Escape will take you out of the record.  Note: data may be entered
  51. from any table/sort order.

  53. Note:  The following fields are mandatory:
  54.      Name
  55.      Service
  56.      Frequency
  57.      City
  58.      County
  59.      State
  60.  
  61. You will notice that Service is a "look-up" field.  If you put a
  62. service that is not in the data base or leave it blank, a list of
  63. valid services will pop-up.  You may add a service to the list at
  64. that time.

  66. To return to the menu from the table, press control-esc.

  69. Utilities -
  70. The utilities menu allows you to modify or add to the list of
  71. services.  Adding, editing and deleting the data is the same as
  72. above.

  74. Printing - 
  75. All reports should print on any printer capable of printing the
  76. full IBM character set.  If your printer is not capable of this,
  77. let me know at the time of registration and I will make the
  78. necessary modification.

  87. The data contained has been obtained from various listings (mostly
  88. on bulletin boards).  There is no guarantee of its accuracy.  It is
  89. important to note that under FCC rules, it is illegal to listen to
  90. certain frequencies and at no time may you rebroadcast anything
  91. that is heard over the airwaves.  While a frequency may be listed
  92. here, it is not an indication that it is legal to monitor that
  93. frequency.  That is the responsibility of the listener.
