  44. FrogyCOMM is a Shareware and not a Public Domain product! Please register (see
  45. REGI.TXT)! The development of this program requires a lot of time. We don't
  46. want to compete with programs like Telemate or Procomm but we would like to
  47. provide you with an easy to use program with all the necessary features you
  48. would expect from a terminal program. We will keep it very cheap and offer
  49. it to you for only 40 (forty) swiss francs.

  104. Copy your FrogyCOMM files to the directory of your choice (e.g. FCOMM).
  105. To start FrogyCOMM simply type FCOMM.EXE.

  111. Select a menu entry by typing the highlighted letter together with the [ALT]
  112. key. Exit from a menu by [ESC]. Activate the menu bar by pressing [ALT]-M.
  113. Move from any menu entry to another using the left and right arrow keys.
  114. To select a menu press [ENTER].

  120. A submenu will show up presenting four options:
  121. Communication, Strings, F-Keys, General.
  122. The Communication option allows you to change the modem settings
  123. such as directory paths, COM Port, Baud Rate.
  124. The second option enables you to modify AT commands, connect
  125. and busy strings.
  126. The F-Keys option allows to map your own macros the first ten
  127. function keys.
  128. The general option contains your name, key, soundswitch and the
  129. predefined IRQ mappings.

  135. To enter the Dial menu press [ALT]-D from the terminal screen. Press M to
  136. select manual dialing. You will be asked to enter the phone number. Then
  137. press E (for EDIT) in order to enter the name and address corresponding to
  138. this number. Also, fill in the communication settings in case you would like
  139. to overrule the ones you defined globally under the Setup menu option.
  140. To delete an entry press L. To let FrogyCOMM dial the number for you just
  141. position the cursor on the desired number then press D (or [ENTER]).
  142. FrogyCOMM takes care of the rest.

  148. To enter the Terminal menu press [ALT]-T in the terminal screen.
  149. The following options are available from this menu: hang up, answer mode,
  150. log file, up-load and down-load. Hang up and answer mode strings have
  151. already been defined in the Setup menu. You can perform a hang up at any
  152. time by pressing [ALT]-H from the terminal screen. Start the answer mode
  153. when you want the calls to be automatically answered by FrogyCOMM.
  154. Press [ALT]-L from the terminal screen to
  155.  
  156. open the log file (logging your session in a ANSI hard disk file).

  159. Upload:
  160. -------
  161.        Press [PgUp] from the terminal screen to upload a file (send a file
  162.        from your computer to the BBS). Choose the desired transfer protocol
  163.        from one of the following: ASCII, X-Modem, 1K-XModem, ZModem.
  164.        Warning: You might be asked to use the YModem protocol.
  165.                 In this case just try the 1K-XModem.
  166.        The file you want to upload must be in the directory you named in the
  167.        Setup menu (see page 3).
  168.  
  169. Download:
  170. ---------
  171.        To download press [PgDn] from the terminal screen. You can choose the
  172.        transfer protocol to be X-Modem, Y-Modem or ZModem. The ZModem
  173.        protocol has an auto download feature. If you want to download a file
  174.        from a mailbox using the ZModem protocol FrogyCOMM will do it
  175.        automatically! If the connection is severed during downloading of a
  176.        file using the ZModem protocol only the missing data will have to be
  177.        downloaded once the session resumes. The downloaded files will be
  178.        saved in the directory you defined in the Setup menu (see page 3).

  184. The Back function is always active. Indeed, it is a scrollable online log
  185. file. It automatically saves every character displayed on the screen in a
  186. temporary file. Press [ALT]-B from the terminal Screen to copy this
  187. temporary file on the hard disk. This function is especially useful when you
  188. want to save an interesting message for later reading, when you cannot read
  189. every message immediately or when you are called away from your screen during
  190. the session. After pressing [ALT]-B you will be asked whether FrogyCOMM
  191. should write (W) to the FCOMM.BAC file or clear (C) it.

  197. Press [ALT]-S from the terminal screen to enter the Setup menu. Choose the
  198. option F-KEYS. You can place your own macros on the ten function keys
  199. (F1-F10). The macros written and edited by a regular ASCII editor (i.e.
  200. EDLIN) can be used to define ASCII or ANSI text strings like "Hello People",
  201. "Guten Tag, Freunde von nah und fern" or test messages like "The quick brown
  202. fox jumped right over the lazy dog's back".

  208. To exit press [ALT]-X from the terminal screen. You can then Exit, Cancel or
  209. Shell to DOS. Jump to DOS (shell to DOS) from the terminal screen using the
  210. combination [ALT]-J.
