TITLE: NameNet 5
I shall be getting myself a PC in the new year (albeit with MagicPC). I do
this with no great joy - given an infinite amount of money I would get
myself a Falcon equipped with the meaner add-ons - but I need access to
"standard" software.
This means that when I issue NameNet 5 in the new year it is likely to be
the last version (give or take any bug fixes, although I expect to be
using NameNet myself for at least another year - I shall not be getting
rid of my ST or STe).
I have therefore decided that NN5 will be freeware and will not need a key
file to obtain full facilities.
I can imagine how annoyed someone would be to register and then find it
was free a month later. So having made the decision, I am publishing a
non-general key file for anyone to use with the present NN4 version.
The key file should be called NAMENET.UKY and be placed in the same folder
as NAMENET.PRG. It consists of three lines of text; a name, a serial
number and a a code. The general key follows between the two "cut here"
lines.:
======== cut here ========
UNREGISTERED
10000
BHZLNNNSWUXHOSTSEWQWMTBJE
======== cut here ========
This information may be freely distributed.
NameNet 4 can be found in the files97 flist

Thanks for publishing a key for NAMENETv4.
I had a problem in that when I placed it in the same folder as NAMENET I
received the message back that it wasn't a valid key.
After trying it a few more times, I ran the details through the key_gen
program and 'éureka' it worked.
Going back to the generated key I found that it was 48 bytes long whereas
the key published was 49 bytes long.
This info may help others who may be having the same problem.
On the other hand I must admit it could have been me!!

When getting pasted into my message; a trailing space seems to have been
added to each line. I suspect that the trailing space on the third line is
what is causing the problem - line three should also end with a cr/lf.
I have got a fault on the machine with the old versions of the software on
it at the moment but I'll investigate more thoroughly during the week.
