Does anyone out there in AMIGALand have any experience with the program
Post V1.0 by Adrian Aylward? After catching a few treads about it here
in the conference, I downloaded the program to try and make it work with
two programs I have that support Postscript - Excellence! and PageStream.
My system is a 2500 w/4Meg and a HP LJII. I got Conman1.3 and
had Arp V39 as the program required. I made a dir called PSFonts and
used the assign command to assign PSFonts: HD:PSfonts. I then moved the 4
Excellence! postscript fonts (Pcourier, PTimes, PSymbols and PHelv.) to
to this dir (actually copied a second set). I then generated a letter
using these fonts with excellence!, then "printed" as a postscript
document to a file. After starting up Post.2620, I used the init.PS file
to get it going. I then tried to both load and run the program I had
previously saved but get nothing. I then tried to go to the screen but
only get a blank screen. The menu says it is running, but nothing comes
out. I tried the option Load Fonts, but no matter what I click on, all I
get is errors. I cannot get it to accept any file or point size.
As for the postscript output for Pagestream, I select the postscipt
driver in printer setup, and save it as a file as well. When I try to run
post with the file, it gives an error almost immediately. I must be
doing something wrong, but don't know what. Anyone got any ideas?
One more thing. If I use excellence! to generate a letter using regular
fonts (not the PFonts), and then save as a postscript document, the file
is huge, with a lot of X and O. If I run this file on POST, I do get a
printout, but with terrible resolution, even though I save it at 300 dpi.
I can also make it go to the screen, but again with poor quality.
