  7. OVERVIEW
  8. --------
  9. You are Captain Nevarro of the Pirate Ship Odyssey, searching the rich
  10. waters of the Andorian Sea for ancient sunken treasure.  Battle dangerous
  11. sea creatures and fierce pirates who will attempt to send your ship to
  12. a watery grave.  Strengthen your vessel by finding ammunition dumps on 
  13. nearby islands.  Avoid the force of the swirling whirlpools and drifting 
  14. icebergs, and beware the haunted ghost ship, which is rumored to have 
  15. caused many crewmen to leap to their deaths in sheet terror.  If you
  16. think you can collect all ten ancient treasures while outwitting the 
  17. dangers of the deep, then man your vessel and sail on in search of 
  18. Pirate's Plunder.

  53. HOW TO INSTALL PIRATES PLUNDER ONTO YOUR HARD DRIVE
  54. ---------------------------------------------------
  55. To install the game onto your hard drive, run Microsoft Windows, and
  56. select "File" then "Run..." from the main menu in the Program Manager.  
  57. If you are running Windows 95, select the "Run..." command from the Start 
  58. menu instead.  Enter the full path, and run the program SETUP.EXE.  For 
  59. example, if you are installing from a disk in drive A:, type A:SETUP and
  60. then click the mouse on the OK button or press RETURN.

  62. Follow the on-screen installation instructions to proceed.  You will be
  63. asked to enter the path to the directory on your hard drive where you wish
  64. to install the game files, or to accept the default choice.  The installation
  65. program will copy the files to your hard drive and create a Program
  66. Manager group which will contain the game.  To play the game, simply open
  67. the program group, and double click the mouse on the icon of the game.

  82. HOW TO REGISTER FORTUNE PACK

  84. The registration price for Fortune Pack is only $14.95 + $2 s&h.

  87. 1.  REGISTER BY MAIL
  88.     To register Fortune Pack by mail, simply print out the registration form
  89.     and mail it with your payment.  You can either print out the file
  90.     ORDER.FRM in your FORTPACK directory, or you can run the game and select
  91.     Help | How To Register from the game menu, and follow the directions.

  93. 2.  REGISTER ON COMPUSERVE
  94.     If you have access to CompuServe, GO SWREG to enter the shareware
  95.     registration database, and register PRODUCT ID 11254.  CompuServe will
  96.     bill your account directly and notify us to ship a disk out to you
  97.     right away.

  99. We recommend registration by CompuServe for users outside the United States
  100. since it is faster and easier than obtaining a check drawn on U.S. funds.

  118. DEFINITION OF SHAREWARE
  119. -----------------------
  120. Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software before buying 
  121. it.  If you try a Shareware program and continue using it, you are 
  122. expected to register.  Individual programs differ on details -- some 
  123. request registration while others require it, some specify a maximum 
  124. trial period.  With registration, you get anything from the simple right 
  125. to continue using the software to an updated program with printed manual.

  128. copyright holder retains all rights, with a few specific exceptions as 
  129. stated below. Shareware authors are accomplished programmers, just like 
  130. commercial authors, and the programs are of comparable quality.  (In both 
  131. cases, there are good programs and bad ones!) The main difference is in 
  132. the method of distribution.  The author specifically grants the right to 
  133. copy and distribute the software, either to all and sundry or to a 
  134. specific group.  For example, some authors require written permission 
  135. before a commercial disk vendor may copy their Shareware.

  138. find software that suits your needs and pocketbook, whether it's
