  14.    Welcome to Sage Software's Sage Concentration.
  15.  
  16.    SAGE CONCENTRATION. This is a great game for ages 9 to 99. It simulates
  17.    the card game "Concentration" where all 52 cards of a standard deck are
  18.    dealt face-down and players alternate taking turns trying to flip two
  19.    cards over that match. You have the option of playing against another
  20.    human opponent or you can play against one of four levels against the
  21.    computer. This program has great sound effects, animated graphics, and
  22.    20 different card back designs to choose from.

  25.    found in the Online help when you run sagecon.exe.

  29.    A list and a brief description of other programs that Sage Software 
  30.    provides follows:

  32.    SAGE VIDEO POKER SIMULATOR. This is a Video Poker simulator with 
  33.    realistic sound effects, great graphics, and user definable payout
  34.    tables. This program can simulate Draw Poker, Joker's Wild, and Deuces
  35.    Wild machines. Statistics of the different types of hands the player
  36.    has gotten during play are kept. Also, all settings and statistics can
  37.    be saved to disk and loaded at a later time.

  39.    SAGE VIDEO POKER. This is a more advanced version of the Simulator. It
  40.    can do everything that the Simulator can do plus has functionality which
  41.    can analyze the poker hands to find which are the best cards to discard
  42.    for any poker hand (this analyzing functionality is available for the 
  43.    Draw Poker and Joker's Wild games, not Deuces Wild). This analyzing
  44.    functionality includes Advice, Tutor, Analyze Hands, and Analyze Game.
  45.    The Advice button can be selected anytime during a game after the
  46.    initial cards are dealt. This will tell you which the best cards to
  47.    discard are for the current hand and what the expected winnings will be.
  48.    It will also show the expected winnings for every possible discard
  49.    combination. When the Tutor is turned on, it will notify you whenever
  50.    you do not choose the proper cards to hold to yeild maximum returns
  51.    during a game. The Tutor will also keep a list of all the mistakes you
  52.    made and will show you the percent advantage that you lost due to your 
  53.    errors. The Analyze Hands functionality displays the same information
  54.    as the Advice button does but you can specify any poker hand to be
  55.    analyzed. The Analyze Game functionality will analyze the current game
  56.    you have specified. After analyzing a game, you will be shown what the
  57.    player's expected advantage is upon perfect play. Also you will be shown
  58.    what percent of the time you can expect to get each of the payout hands
  59.    upon perfect play. As a bonus, there is a Tournament Play mode in this
  60.    program. This is a fast-paced exciting break from standard play mode.
  61.    The object is to score as many points as you can in a 10 minute period.
  62.    If you are good enough to score in the top 10, you get to place your 
  63.    name on the top 10 list (sorry, you don't get a prize!). This program
  64.    is for someone who wants to go beyond just playing the game. It allows
  65.    you to find which video poker machines in a casino offers the best
  66.    returns and it can help you learn the correct cards to hold in order to
  67.    maximize your winnings.

  69.    SAGE BLACKJACK SIMULATOR (UNREGISTERED). This is the shareware version 
  70.    which has animated graphics, sound effects and background music. This 
  71.    program can simulate the house rules of most casinos in the world. Up to 
  72.    seven players may play at the same time. Any seat can be unplayed, 
  73.    played by the user, or played by the computer. A random shuffle is used 
  74.    to shuffle the cards. From 1 to 8 deck games can be specified. The 
  75.    minimum bet, maximum bet, and shuffling point can all be defined by the 
  76.    user. Also, various statistics such as current bankroll, largest 
  77.    bankroll, smallest bankroll, winnings, number of rounds played, and more 
  78.    are kept.

  80.    SAGE BLACKJACK SIMULATOR. This program is given to the user when he 
  81.    registers the unregistered version. It attempts to simulate a casino 
  82.    blackjack game as close as possible. It has all the functionality of the 
  83.    unregistered version plus has a few more sound effects and comes with a 
  84.    few more music files. Also, this program has the ability to save the 
  85.    game to disk and to load it back later, the speed of the game can be 
  86.    adjusted to as slow or as fast as you want, a casino shuffle can be 
  87.    specified (casino shuffles are not random and can have an effect on the 
  88.    game), dealer statistics are kept, a face-down game can be specified 
  89.    (most single and double deck games at the casinos are dealt face-down), 
  90.    and more. With the casino shuffles and because all cards are collected 
  91.    and discarded in the same order as the casinos do, this program is one 
  92.    of the best casino blackjack simulators on the market at any price!

  94.    SAGE BLACKJACK. This is the top of the line as far as blackjack programs 
  95.    go. This program was designed to teach the user winning blackjack 
  96.    strategies and can also be used to test and even create them. It has 
  97.    many teaching aids available for doing this. One teaching aid provided 
  98.    by this program is the Tutor. When the Tutor is turned on, the computer 
  99.    will monitor each playing action the user makes while he plays and will 
  100.    notify him if he makes a mistake. The user can define any playing 
  101.    strategy to be tutored on, including playing strategies based on a true 
  102.    count. Another teaching aid is the Count Training functionality that can 
  103.    help teach the user how to count cards. Card counting is a method that 
  104.    experienced blackjack players use to gain an advantage over the casinos. 
  105.    It is no secret that a player who counts cards can gain an advantage 
  106.    over the casinos. Yet another training aid provided by this program is 
  107.    the Flash Cards. Any playing strategy that you define for a player can 
  108.    automatically be transferred to flash cards which you can scroll through 
  109.    to help you learn the proper playing actions to take under different 
  110.    situations. To test playing or betting strategies, this program has the 
  111.    ability to define most playing and betting strategies to each of the 7 
  112.    seats. When the graphics are turned off and the game is started, the 
  113.    computer can deal more than 1,000,000 hands an hour (or closer to 
  114.    6,000,000 when a 100mhz pentium or better is used). At this high rate, 
  115.    it is possible to evaluate different strategies by assigning them to 
  116.    different seats and comparing the statistics. The player`s advantage for 
  117.    each strategy will converge toward the actual value when a large number 
  118.    of hands are tested. Also this program has the Evaluation functionality 
  119.    that can be used to find the best playing action to take under different 
  120.    conditions. This functionality can be used to calculate the basic 
  121.    strategy for different house rules and can also be used to calculate 
  122.    count based strategies for different counting methods! The decks used in 
  123.    the game can also be modified. The players can be programmed to enter 
  124.    and leave the game under different conditions, such as based on the true 
  125.    count or based on money won or lost or the number of rounds played amoung
  126.    many others. This program offers a wealth of statistics including 
  127.    statistics based on the types of hands, the true count, count reversal, 
  128.    progression, sessions, previous hands, and more. The animated graphics, 
  129.    sound effects, and user selectable background music makes this a great 
  130.    blackjack program to play for the shear entertainment as well. This 
  131.    program comes packaged with a manual and can be found in a few selected 
  132.    stores.

  134.    BARRAGING BARRIERS is a challenging multi-level maze game. The object 
  135.    is to score as many points as you can by collecting bonuses as you 
  136.    advance to higher and higher levels, trying not to let the barraging
  137.    barriers barricade you.

  139.    DITTO. This is a game where a good short-term memory will take you far.
  140.    The object is to repeat the sequence of button selections that are shown
  141.    to you. The sound effects and animation add a bit of entertainment to 
  142.    this mind stimulating game.
