INSTRUCTIONS:
THIS PROGRAM PLAYS 2 KIDDIE CARD GAMES:
1. GO BOOM
2. STEALING BUNDLES

1. GO BOOM
---------------
THIS IS A CARD GAME FOR TWO. YOU PLAY AGAINST THE COMPUTER. YOUR HAND IS
DISPLAYED AT THE TOP OF THE SCREEN, THE COMPUTER'S UNDER IT.
THE DECK: A STANDARD DECK OF 52 CARDS IS USED. ACE RANKS BELOW THE DEUCE.
THE DEALER: THE DEALER IS RANDOMLY CHOSEN.
THE DEAL: EACH PLAYER GETS 7 CARDS, DEALT ONE AT A TIME ALTERNATELY.
NON-DEALER PLAYS FIRST.
THE PLAY:
A GAME IS A SERIES OF 2-CARD TRICKS. ONE PLAYER MAKES THE OPENING LEAD.
THE OTHER PLAYER MUST THEN LAY DOWN A CARD OF THE SAME SUIT OR SAME RANK;
IF UNABLE TO DO SO, HE MUST DRAW FROM THE DECK UNTIL HE IS ABLE; IF THE DECK
IS EXHAUSTED AND HE IS STILL UNABLE, HE DOES NOT PLAY A CARD AT ALL.
THE TRICK IS WON BY THE HIGHEST CARD OF THE SUIT LED. THE WINNER OF ONE
TRICK LEADS THE NEXT TRICK.
THE HAND:
THE PLAYER WHO SUCCEEDS IN EMPTYING HIS HAND FIRST WINS GOES "BOOM" AND WINS
THE HAND.
HAND TOTAL:
THE HAND TOTAL IS THE SUM OF THE VALUES OF THE CARDS IN THE HAND, WITH AN ACE
COUNTING AS 1 POINT, FACE CARDS AS 10 POINTS, AND THE OTHERS AS THEIR RANKS.
GAME POINTS:
THE WINNER GETS GAME POINTS EQUAL TO THE HAND TOTAL OF THE LOSER'S HAND.
GAME:
A GAME IS 100 GAME POINTS.

2. STEALING BUNDLES
-------------------------
THIS IS A 2-PLAYER KIDDIE VERSION OF THE CARD GAME CASSINO. FOR THE COMPLETE
CASSINO, TRY TOMMY'S CASSINO #TM-146.
THE PLAYERS:
YOU PLAY AGAINST THE COMPUTER. YOUR CARDS ARE ON THE TOP ROW, THE COMPUTER'S
UNDERNEATH. THE THIRD ROW IS THE "TABLE", AND AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN
ARE THE DECK, THE PLAYER'S BUNDLE, AND THE COMPUTER'S BUNDLE, IN THAT ORDER.
THE DEAL:
EACH PLAYER RECEIVES 4 CARDS. THEN 4 MORE CARDS ARE DEALT FACE UP ON THE
"TABLE" (3RD ROW OF THE SCREEN). THEREAFTER, EACH TIME ANY HAND IS PLAYED
OUT EACH PLAYER RECEIVES 4 MORE CARDS.
THE PLAY:
NON-DEALER GOES FIRST. PLAYER MUST EITHER "PLACE" A CARD FACE UP ON THE
TABLE, "TAKE IN" A CARD FROM THE TABLE WITH A CARD OF THE SAME RANK FROM THE
PLAYER'S HAND, OR "STEAL" THE OPPONENT'S BUNDLE BY TAKING IT IN WITH A CARD
OF THE SAME RANK AS ITS TOP CARD.
NOTE: IN TOMMY'S KIDDIE CARDS, YOU TYPE "Pn" TO PLACE YOUR CARD #n ON THE
TABLE; "Tm" TO TAKE TABLE CARD #m (THE COMPUTER FIGURES OUT WHICH CARD IN
YOUR HAND TO TAKE IT WITH); AND "S" TO STEAL THE OPPONENT'S BUNDLE.
BUNDLES:
CARDS TAKEN IN ARE PLACED FACE UP ON THE PLAYER'S "BUNDLE", A SEPARATE PILE.
THE GAME:
THE PLAYER WHO HAS THE MOST CARDS IN HIS BUNDLE BY THE TIME THE CARDS HAVE
BECOME EXHAUSTED WINS THE GAME.

FUNCTION KEYS
------------------
SOUND EFFECTS TOGGLE: FUNCTION KEY F1 TOGGLES THE SOUND EFFECTS ON AND OFF.
DEMO MODE TOGGLE: FUNCTION KEY F2 TOGGLES THE DEMO MODE. IN DEMO MODE, THE
COMPUTER PLAYS YOUR HAND TOO.
TO QUIT: HIT FUNCTION KEY F7.
TO CHANGE THE SCREEN BORDER COLOR (COLOR MONITORS ONLY): HIT FUNCTION KEY F10.
TO DISPLAY THESE INSTRUCTIONS: HIT FUNCTION KEY F5.
GAME SPEED CONTROL: FUNCTION KEY F3 INCREASES, AND FUNCTION KEY F4 DECREASES,
THE DELAY BETWEEN TURNS. THE VALUE OF THIS DELAY, IN SECONDS, IS DISPLAYED
ON THE BOTTOM LINE OF THE SCREEN.

M FORCE MONO DISPLAY MODE
C FORCE COLOR DISPLAY MODE
