I used to successfully share a single 1541 between a Vic 20 and
a C64, just by plugging them together with normal cables into
the 2 ports on the back of the 1541.... but I had to be careful
to make sure one machine wasn't using the 1541 when I wanted to
access it from the other or it would lead to lockup on one,
two, or all 3 devices. I never bothered with the
speedup/slowdown software commands.
