Unfortunately I hadn't heard of this project before I read this letter.
I would love to assist you in collecting images of all the old
VIC-cartridges. I also have a few of them myself.

Why bother with the legal hassle? The VIC is long gone. Noone can possibly
be damaged by having VIC-games floating around the Net.

I just dug out my old VIC collection. Only 10 or 12 disks in all. When I
switched on my 64/1541 and started looking at the contents of the disks I
was hit by a huge wave of nostalgia... I suddenly realised that the floppy
I had just inserted in the drive was the first floppydisk I ever bought.
Words can't really explain the feeling, so I won't try to do it. :)

I don't think that will ever happen. Commodore are dead, and I don't think
Escom bought the rights to the VIC-software. All the programmers have moved
onto greener pastures, and would probably not mind.

I would love to donate my collection for this project.
Unfortunately, I do not have any Web/FTP space where I can put the files.
If anyone out there has space for this project and wants to share some of
it, please don't hesitate to let me know. E-mail to the adress in my
signature.

A project like this can only work if it is based on people voluntarily
contributing the software, either by e-mailing the cartridge images or by
snailmailing the actual cartridge... people who do the latter will of
course have their cartridges mailed back to them as soon as the image was
transferred to disk.

What about actual cartridge-images? Do you have any of those? And if so,
would you be willing to mail them to the project coordinator before you
leave the Net?

Please e-mail me the list at the address below.

No. Thank *you* for this great idea of preserving the past.
