File NOTICE.UPDATES
Stereo Player Version 10.0 & 11.0
Copyright 1988 Mark A. Dickenson
This program is COPYRIGHTED and made
available on a FREEWARE type of
basis. This program can be freely
copied and distributed as long as it
is not SOLD or used as a give-away
with another product and this
documentation file must be included
with the program.
Personally I think ShareWare is a
bust, but if you feel an OVERWHELMING
need to part with something of
monetary value. I would be more than
happy to help cure that need by
taking it off your hands.
If you have any gripes, complaints,
suggestions, COMPLIMENTS or anything
else you would like to send to me
then send them to:

-------------------------------------
Updates to Version 10.0 from 8.0/9.0
------------------------------------
o Fix to the PIC/WDS/MUS/STR bug.
The screen nolonger flickers when
you have all four files for use in
a song.
o Redesigned Screens and menus
o Two new MODEs called MIDI P and
MIDI M. These are disabled if the
MIDI.MODULE is not loaded.
o MIDI support through the use of an
additional program called the
MIDI.MODULE. (This module is not
released with this program, but
will be released at a later date.
This version of the player will
check for the module and load it if
present.)
o Stereo EXPANDER option. This will
cause the player to play all 3
voice (MONO) SIDs in a 6 voice
format. You will have control of
the delay between the right and
left channels. This gives a reverb
or expander effect to the music
making it sound fuller.
o On the Song Selector, 6 voice songs
are represented by an asterik (*)
instead of the number 6.
o Play SIDs at one third of their
normal speed with the SLOW command
on the KEYBOARD screen. Also, the
FASTFORWARD has been fixed to work
more reliably. You must also now
use the new NORMAL command to
return from the SLOW or FAST
command.
o Fix to the CREDIT COLOR bug. If
the credits have any color codes in
them the RANDOM line color selector
will be turned off.
o On the KEYBOARD SCREEN you will be
shown how many times the current
playing SID will play before moving
to the next one. The number is
between the word PLAYING: and the
name of the song.
o Additional support for the Enhanced
SID Editor commands.
o New additions to the EXTENDED WORDS
feature of the player. You can now
have full screen animated text
graphics from within a WDS file.
To use the new features you must
use the following FLG values.
FLG 255 - Toggle keyboard ON/OFF
Change BACKGROUND color
FLG 224 - Black
FLG 225 - White
FLG 226 - Red
FLG 227 - Cyan

FLG 236 - Med. Grey
FLG 237 - Lt. Green
FLG 238 - Lt. Blue
FLG 239 - Lt. Grey
Change BORDER color
FLG 208 - Black

o You can now stamp a 3 voice SID
using a new PARAMETER format. You
may stamp the SID for MONO, STEREO,
or DELAY format. MONO will play
the SID in 3 voices only. STEREO
will play in the normal 3 voice
stereo format. DELAY allows you to
select an EXPANDER value for the
SID as well as transposing 3 of the
voices up or down the scale to give
a true psuedo 6 voice sound for a 3
voice SID.
o Bug Fix on the change disk
comparison routine. Before, some
songs would register as having an
STR file when in fact they didn't.
This was because the comparison
routine had a flaw in it. This has
now been fixed.
o You can now press the RUN/STOP key
to abort the directory listing when
you use the 'D' - Disk Directory
command.
o When using the built-in FAST LOADER
you could corrupt a disk when using
the DOS command to scratch or
rename a file. This has been
cured.
o There is a new opening screen that
will play music as the screen
forms. There is a new command
called 'O' (for opening) that will
allow you to select either the new
opening or the old 8.0 style
opening. (The new opening is the
default)
o Plus many other cosmetic changes
and internal changes to the program
that are not visable. And I have
probably forgotten a couple, but
this a fairly complete overview of
the additions.
I hope everyone enjoys the changes
and additions.
