  4. Welcome to Bernard Of Hollywood's Pin-Ups for Windows,
  5. part of the Corel CD Home Series.

  7. This document provides important information regarding
  8. Bernard Of Hollywood's Pin-Ups for Windows that wasn't
  9. available when the jewel case insert was printed.  Please
  10. take the time to read this through.

  33. A. CD-ROM caching
  34. =================

  36. To increase the speed of your program, you should use
  37. SMARTDRV.EXE's CD-ROM caching.  This option is available to
  38. DOS 6.2.  Here are the steps to enable CD-ROM caching setup:
  39.  
  40. 1. In your "AUTOEXEC.BAT" file, Make sure that the CD-ROM
  41.    extensions program, CorelCDX or MSCDEX, is loaded before 
  42.    SMARTDRV.  For example:
  43.  
  44.         C:\BIN\MSCDEX.EXE /D:MSCD001 /M:10
  45.  
  46.         C:\WINDOWS\SMARTDRV.EXE /X /L 2048
  47.  
  48. 2. Give SMARTDRV.EXE the default cache size of 2048K as shown in
  49.    the example above.

  53. B. Improving Performance
  54. ========================

  56. If you notice that your application is running slowly, setting
  57. your video driver to 256 color mode may improve performance.
  58. For further information on setting color mode, refer to the
  59. documentation provided by your video card manufacturer.

  63. C. Trouble Shooting
  64. ===================

  66. 1. Problems with application not displaying properly
  67. ----------------------------------------------------

  69. If you are experiencing video display problems when using the
  70. application, you may need to contact the manufacturer of your 
  71. video card for updated video drivers. If you have obtained and
  72. installed the latest video drivers for your display adapter and
  73. you still are having problems, please contact Corel Multimedia
  74. Technical Support.

  76. 2. Problems with playback of video clips
  77. ----------------------------------------
  78. If you are experiencing problems while you are viewing the video
  79. clips, make sure that the QuickTime video drivers are installed
  80. properly on your system. Installing Bernard Of Hollywood's Pinups
  81. copies the required version of QuickTime to your system. Please
  82. note that the video clips will display best at color settings
  83. higher than 256 colors.

  85. 3. Screen colors incorrect after returning from screen saver
  86. ------------------------------------------------------------
  87. If you have a screen saver that starts while Bernard Of Hollywood's
  88. Pin-Ups is being displayed on screen, you may experience a problem
  89. with incorrect display colors when returning to the application. If
  90. this is the case, please shut down the application and disable your
  91. screen saver from starting while you are using Bernard Of Hollywood's
  92. Pin-Ups.

  94. 4. Date on Pin-Up Calendar shows up in different language 
  95. ---------------------------------------------------------
  96. The calendar date display on the main Pin-Ups screen will display the 
  97. date in the language that Windows is currently using. For example,
  98. if you are using a German version of Windows, and the date settings
  99. in windows is set for German, the date will be displayed in German.
  100. Please verify your time and date regional display settings if this
  101. is not the case. Please consult your Windows documentation for
  102. further information on setting time/date regional settings.
