It includes some nice¢ contributions from FRANK WALTERS who¢ wrote a long article on how to create¢ a macro in TextPro. I have included¢ an ARC'd library update from HAROLD¢ PEGLER, LIBRARIAN, the UNARC.COM¢ program necessary to decompress it, ¢ and other files and games. The¢ calculator that Ron demonstrated is¢ very good, and will be included.¢¢ POTPOURRI:¢¢ JACK GEDALIUS received from the¢ SUBURBAN CHICAGO ATARI COMPUTER¢ CLUB's librarian, JOSEPH CHICO, 4¢ library disks and programs. His new¢ address is N.O.S.A.U.G., P.O.BOX¢ 11903, WESTHILL, AB32 6GE, SCOTLAND. ¢ We exchange Newsletters with¢ N.O.S.A.U.G., the club of which Mr.¢ Murray is president.¢¢ RON FETZER has a letter of permission¢ from PAUL ALRHART giving us¢ permission to put any of his programs¢ in our library.¢¢ ALAN SHARKIS made a motion for the¢ committee to set up the awards in¢ ALEX's memory have a brief meeting at¢ the end of this meeting to discuss¢ progress made. The motion was¢ tabled.¢¢ DEMONSTRATIONS:¢¢ JACK demonstrated on of the SCAT¢ disks mentioned above. They include¢ Startrek, a summary of the club's¢ library holdings, and an order form. ¢ Also there is a quiz program with¢ word quizes, and mindsweeper games¢ which we tried (one wasn't working¢ and this disk will not be put into¢ our library.)¢¢ ALAN SHARKIS demoed #10 & #9 Vol 14¢ from SLCC; #9 is dated Sept.1996. ¢ Disk #9 contains a DOS and a game¢ called Brikbat from side 2, which is ¢ a game like Pong. Then we ran Disk¢ #10 which has a menu and we tried a¢ few games including Pipeline, a¢ plumber's game (Library #668)¢ December #1296. The disk has basic¢ programs on one side and music on the¢ other side.¢¢ NOSAUG of Scotland sent a Disk of¢ FUTURA Issue #20 dated 12/96 with a¢ new address noted in their letter to¢ us as follows: NOSAUG, PO BOX 11903,¢ WESTHILL, AB32 6GE, SCOTLAND. The¢ disk has basic on one side and one¢ long program on the other side,¢ (Library #669.) The disk was¢ dedicated to the memory of ALEX¢ PIGNATO.¢¢ We then demonstrated ABBUC #47 from¢ GERMANY (Library #670.) It included a¢ PD Catalog and an article about the¢ power of the post office on side one¢ with music. Side two has fonts and¢ font programs and has commentaries in¢ English.¢¢ Next was DRAPER PASCAL taken from¢ SLCC June '91. The structured¢ programming language is similar to¢ Turbo Basic in its commands,¢ structured programing, modules¢ connected to each other, but all¢ variables have to be declared at the¢ beginning of the program (Library¢ #671.)¢¢ RON FETZER demonstrated another¢ program he has from ABBUC in June '91¢ called Ultra Tetris game #91 (Library¢ #672), the original game came from¢ Russia, it needs Turbo Basic. On¢ side 2 it has utilities.¢¢ Everyone received the newsletter for¢ this month and then door prizes were¢ given and ALAN SHARKIS won the first¢ prize, HAROLD PEGLER won the second¢ one and JOE LEBER won the third¢ prize.
