  1. MAVERICK LAUNCH CENTRE : Miscellaneous information.

  3. PROGRAM FILES
  4. The Launch Centre consists of the following files as a minimum :-
  5. LaunchXY.exe : The main program file.
  6. LaunchXY.hlp : Context sensitive help file.
  7. Delete.exe   : Used to perform uninstall.
  8. ReadMe.Txt   : This file.
  9.            (X.Y is the version - Major.Minor)
  10. There may also be other minor files such as bitmaps for use as wallpaper.

  12. INSTALLATION
  13. When the Launch Centre is run for the first time from a removable disk
  14. (in fact, any drive other than a hard disk or a network drive) it will
  15. automatically display an Install dialog. It does not require a separate
  16. installation program. However, if you choose not to install at this time,
  17. you may have to use the /Install switch later. There may also be a program
  18. present called Install.exe.

  20. NETWORK INSTALLATION
  21. The Launch Centre need only be installed on a network server. If so
  22. required, a central configuration may be set up on the server by using
  23. the switch /NetServer, otherwise it will configure itself on each
  24. computer when it is run. Registration must be performed on each computer
  25. unless the file Customer.DLL is purchased. It is advisable to set up a
  26. password for each registration. Also see online help.

  28. COMMAND-LINE SWITCHES
  29. The Launch Centre recognises several command-line switches :-
  30. /Install /Uninstall /Shell and /M
  31. Only one of these switches can be used in a single command line.

  33. /Install   will force the Launch Centre to open its Install   dialog.
  34. /Uninstall will force the Launch Centre to open its Uninstall dialog.
  35. /Shell     is required if the Launch Centre is to be used as the Windows
  36.            Shell. Currently, this is not recommended.

  38. /M will force the Launch Centre to open even if it is already open.
  39. Normally, when the Launch Centre is run, it will test whether it is
  40. already open. If it is (or appears to be) open it will attempt to activate
  41. the existing process. You should never need to use this switch.

  43. Only /M and /Shell can be used with other switches. (See online help.)

  45. To use a command-line switch, either add it to a shortcut "Target"
  46. (right-click the shortcut and choose "Properties", then select "Shortcut")
  47. or click the START button, choose RUN, and enter a line, typically :-
