  90. CATraxx is a powerful 32-bit Windows application designed 
  91. to help you catalog and manage your music collection. CATraxx
  92. allows you to keep track of just about every aspect of your 
  93. collection, and gives you all the power and flexibility that 
  94. you will ever need. Using CATraxx you can quickly catalog CDs 
  95. by downloading disc data from the Internet CDDB database. 
  96. CATraxx is easy-to-use for the amateur, with sophisticated
  97. features for the professional. We believe that CATraxx is the 
  98. ultimate in music database management!

  100. CATraxx has a comprehensive set of fields for both albums and 
  101. tracks, enabling you to catalog information like artist, album 
  102. title, format (CDs, vinyl records, cassettes, videos etc.), 
  103. release year, label, catalog number, purchase price, current 
  104. value, music category, status (own, want, for sale etc.), 
  105. condition, playing time, song titles, songwriters, producers,
  106. recording studios, musicians and instruments. You can store 
  107. an image of the album cover and add your own personal comments 
  108. for both albums and tracks.

  110. You can work with an unlimited number of databases. This 
  111. means you can split your collection into different catalogs 
  112. and organize it to meet your needs. CATraxx allows you to 
  113. change the name of all data fields. For example, you might want
  114. to rename Artist to Performer, Songwriter to Composer or Format 
  115. to Media. You can hide the fields you don't want to use. These 
  116. fields will disappear from all windows, menus, lists etc. You 
  117. only use the fields you want.

  119. You can effectively search the database for information that 
  120. you require. Search in all fields with any combination of 
  121. fields and operators. In addition, CATraxx lets you cross 
  122. reference up to five fields. This is an extremely flexible
  123. way to search and query data.

  125. The report designer lets you create almost any type of report. 
  126. Use one of the pre-defined reports, or create your own from 
  127. scratch. You have full control over data fields, groups, sort 
  128. order, columns, fonts, colors, paper size, margins and print 
  129. orientation. CATraxx lets you preview reports on screen before 
  130. printing. Using CATraxx you can easily create professionally 
  131. looking reports with exactly the layout you want.

  133. With the HTML Generator you can quickly generate documents to 
  134. be published on the World Wide Web. The loan module lets you 
  135. keep track of albums on loan. Check the program periodically 
  136. to see what is still out on loan. You will always know who has 
  137. what and since when.

  139. The statistics function allows you to analyze your collection
  140. in a variety of ways. CATraxx lets you track both initial 
  141. investment and the value of your collection. Use the backup 
  142. function to make backup copies of your valuable data. With 
  143. the built-in CD controller you can control the playback of 
  144. audio CDs in your CD-ROM player.

  180. TO INSTALL CATRAXX

  183. To install CATraxx, follow these steps:

  188. 1. Insert diskette number 1 into your diskette drive.
  189.  
  190. 2. From the Start menu, choose Run.
  191.  
  192.    You see the Run dialog box.
  193.  
  194. 3. In the Open text box, type the path to the installation 
  195.    program, for example A:\SETUP, and choose OK.
  196.  
  197. 4. Follow the instructions on the screen. When requested, 
  198.    specify the folder where you want to install CATraxx. 
  199.    Unless you specify a different folder, the application 
  200.    will be installed to C:\Program Files\CATraxx32.

  202. 5. To start CATraxx, choose Programs / CATraxx 98 from the
  203.    Start menu
