  32. HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS

  35. 486 66MHz or higher with VESA compatible driver, 8Mb RAM, and 5Mb hard disk space.

  37. Recommended setup: Pentium, quad-speed CD-ROM drive, VESA compatible driver, SVGA
  38. video card & monitor.

  40. Supported: Soundblaster and 100% compatibles, AWE32, WaveBlaster, AdLib, Pro
  41. Audio Spectrum, Roland MT32, General MIDI.

  43. This demo's high resolution graphics require both a VESA compatible SVGA
  44. video card and VESA Super VGA BIOS Extension installed before you start the
  45. game. VESA stands for Video Electronics Standards Association. This standard
  46. allows the graphics to be displayed on any video card that is VESA compatible
  47. without the need for the game's programmers to know precisely how each
  48. individual card works.

  50. If, when attempting to run the demo, you get an error message, your video card
  51. probably needs a VESA driver loaded prior to playing. Consult the documentation
  52. and software that came with your video card on the loading of the driver, or
  53. contact your video card manufacturer.

  57. RUNNING THE DEMO
  58. ****************

  60. The Bullfrog Christmas Demo CD will not run in native Windows 95 mode. It must be run from MS-DOS. However, all the games featured on the demo are being developed to run under Windows 95.

  62. Insert the CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive and select that drive by typing D: (where D is the drive letter identifying your CD-ROM).

  64. To run the demo type BULLFROG and press [ENTER].

  66. A directory will be created on your C: drive called BULLFROG.CD. The soundcard configuration utility SETSOUND.EXE will be installed into this directory. Further subdirectories will be created as needed by the individual game demos. The subdirectory \SOUND is created to store sound drivers.

If this is the first time you have run the demo cd, SETSOUND.EXE then runs automatically. The program should be able to autodetect your soundcard's settings as long as you select the soundcard you have installed in your computer. Should you have any problems with music or sound effects, run this program again and adjust the settings manually. You may need to consult your soundcard documentation if you do not already know its settings.

Once SETSOUND.EXE has been run, the demo selection screen loads. Simply move your mouse pointer over the icon of the demo you wish to see or play and click on it to load that demo. When the demo is over, you are returned to the demo selection screen automatically. Click on the button marked EXIT to return to DOS.

  77. To uninstall the demo cd, simply delete the directory c:\bullfrog.cd and its contents. You may wish to refer to your DOS manual to find out the most efficient way of doing this.
