Each image on your Kodak Photo CD is available in six different resolutions. When you import an image, choose the resolution that best suits your needs for quality and disk space. Generally, the higher an image's resolution, the better the quality of the image. However, a high quality, high resolution image takes up a significant amount more disk space and memory and takes a longer time to print than a lower resolution image.
Here are guidelines for choosing the correct resolution for the image you are importing:
Choose the resolution 2048 x 3072 pixels or 1024 x 1536 pixels to import the highest quality image for doing image processing, for example. This image will occupy the most disk space and take longer to print than a lower resolution image.
Choose the resolution 512 x 768 pixels to import an average quality image which is sufficient for most letters or newsletters.
Choose the resolution 256 x 384 pixels to import a coarser, less defined image which may be sufficient for a draft, for example.
Choose the resolution 128 x 192 pixels to import a thumbnail of your image for a proof sheet, for example.
