The PageWizard« design assistant layout for this brochure provided a clip art image here. This beautiful butterfly, which also came from Publisher's ClipArt Gallery, was chosen to personalize the look.
To enlarge the first letter of a paragraph, you just select the text, open the DropCap Gallery, click on a drop cap style you like - and it appears.

To explain the salon's services, this brochure uses pictures as well as words. For example, a clip art image of children highlights services specifically for kids.
Publisher makes table creation easy by presenting you with all the options. You just specify the number of rows and columns you want, browse through several looks, and pick the one you want.
To capture the fun of the event, graphics are the focus of this flyer. The layout was designed from scratch, but Publisher's ready-made clip art and easy drawing tools did most of the work.

A WordArt effect makes the name of the event jump off the page. You just click on the text, open the WordArt dialog, click on the shape you want, and the effect is there!
Because fun is what the event is all about, the word is emphasized with some bold lines and a pre-made "star" from Publisher's Shape tool.
Nothing tells the story like a photograph. This print of last year's winner was scanned directly into Publisher.
For extra emphasis, a layered effect was created by placing a triangle under the talk bubble (both pre-made elements from the Shape tool).
Rotating these graphics was simple. You just hold down the ALT key and drag the objects' handles in the desired direction.
The photo from last year's race draws the reader to the rest of the story. Publisher wrapped the text around the image automatically.
Those eyes peeking through the text are part of a scanned image that was used as a background for the whole page.
The same bold typeface takes the reader's eye straight from "Bay Area Fun Run" to the races in it. With Publisher's easy and precise text rotation feature, the events (5K, 10K and 15K) were rotated all in one step.
Drawing anything, from a line to a wide selection of irregular shapes, is practically automatic. You just choose a tool, put your cursor down, and drag until you've got the size you want. The varied accent lines were drawn using the Line tool set to different thicknesses.

The only change made was the color of those diamonds. To add color to a shape, you just click to select it, click on the Paint Can icon, choose a shade from the many possibilities, and then Publisher pours it in!

This clip art rose was chosen from the ClipArt Gallery which contains more than 150 clip art images on diskette (and over 1,000 on CD-ROM).
