This is yet another part of the series on Live Role-Playing, and one
of the most crucial. This will explain the non-combat part of the game,
the role-playing aspect. This is one of the hardest parts, but also can
be the most fun. This is where you get to be a person other than
yourself. You could be an evil rogue, steeling and assasinating, or a
lawful fighter, righting the injustices caused by the evil rogue. This
is where you get to be creative. I'll give you an example of
role-playing. Back to our freind the Scholar and his goblin hunting
party.
"Wow!" That was close I exclaimed. "I almost died! Thanks for the
healing freind."
"No problem. My duty is to heal all who are worthy. That is what
the Guild said."
"Still, I thank you." I persisted.
We discused our battle plans on our way to the cave. I persited
that we mount a frontal attack because anything else is dishonorable.
While the lead fighter said we should attack from behind. It was
obvious to all that my position would not change, so they agreed.
We slowly came closer, then the onslot begane. The first wave of
goblins came torward us at a full bleed run. The fighters held them as
we, the magic-users, got spells ready. The first wave was defeated
relativly easily, but we were hurt a little. Then the Goblins sent some
trolls out. The fighters fell like flies as they were slaughtered. I
threw all my spells, but I killed only one. Another got me.
"9! 9!" It yelled.
"AAAARRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!" I screamed as I fell to the
ground. I writhered for a second then fell still, dead. When all but the
templar fell, we heard a scream from the east. It was a party of
fighters. The trolls ignored the templar, and went after the fighters.
The templar quikly came over and "First-Aided" us. He came to me first.
"I aid your wounds!" He called. Then counted to 30.
"Woaoaao. What happened?" I said wearily.
"A troll took you down. Rest my friend, you did your best. I must
tend to the others."
I slowly nodded and he ran to the others. I staggered to get up,
and finally did. I was down to 1 hit now. Boy I wish I had another
armor spell.
We walked slowly back to the cabin to recooperate.
Now, the scholar wasn't really hurt, but he acted that way to give
the illusion of being hurt. This is good role-playing. But not the
only kind. The others are when you talk, the way you act, ect.
Basically you are role-playing the entire weekend. Nonestop!
SEE `YA!
